Jenn-Air® Announces Partnership with Keurig, Inc.™
Expands “Too Beautiful To Put Away” Small Appliances Line
to Single-Cup Coffee Makers

CHICAGO (March 20, 2005) ? Building on its 40-year heritage of producing high-end cooking appliances, Jenn-Air® announced today its partnership with Keurig, Inc.™, the leading single-cup brewing system in the U.S., to license Keurig’s patented single-cup brewing technology for Jenn-Air’s first coffee maker – as part of its Jenn-Air™ Attrezzi™ line of small appliances.

Jenn-Air, the inventor of downdraft cooking technology, has built a reputation for manufacturing stylish, high-performance major appliances for gourmet cooks. In 2003, Jenn-Air delighted consumers with the launch of its colorful and unique countertop tools – the Jenn-Air Attrezzi small appliances line. In 2005, Jenn-Air will add to its “too-beautiful-to-put-away” collection of high-performance stand mixers and blenders with a new Jenn-Air Attrezzi toaster and a Jenn-Air Attrezzi single-cup coffee maker.

“The recent trend of single-serve coffee makers for the home is taking hold across the nation,” notes Kristi Lafrenz, director of sales and marketing for Maytag Diversified Businesses. “Like the other small appliances in the Jenn-Air Attrezzi line, our single-serve coffee maker will offer more style and performance and allow consumers to personalize and customize their coffee or tea – one perfect cup at a time.”

The Jenn-Air and Keurig, Inc. partnership will bring together one of the leading appliance brands with the maker of the innovative single-cup brewing technology that includes some of the best gourmet coffee and tea brands in North America.

“When we began this project, we wanted to combine superior technology and innovation, single-cup speed and convenience and gourmet taste and variety. Keurig’s technology and its gourmet coffee and tea partners will provide our consumers with the personalization and performance they are seeking,” says Lafrenz. “We are excited to be partnering with a leader like Keurig to develop the premium segment of this emerging single-cup category.”

“Having Jenn-Air embrace our single-cup technology and multiple gourmet coffee and tea branded strategy is a major milestone for Keurig,” notes Nick Lazaris, president and CEO of Keurig, Inc. “Single-cup is the next leap in the evolution of coffee and tea brewing. Already a standard in offices around the country, the category has been popular in European homes for almost a decade. With more American consumers choosing to drink their gourmet coffee at home, the notion of brewing the way they drink – one cup at a time – is catching on.”

Distribution, pricing and product design plans are still being finalized. The product itself will be designed with Keurig technology and will be marketed by Jenn-Air to fine department and kitchen specialty stores, as well as premium major appliance retailers.

Keurig’s patented technology allows individuals to brew their preferred variety of fresh coffee on demand in just under a minute. Keurig is the leading single-cup coffee system in the U.S. office coffee service market. Over 50,000 Keurig brewers are now placed in offices and food service establishments in North America and Japan, with over 14 million cups of Keurig Brewed® coffee and tea consumed in an average month.
