''Extra Bold'' K-Cups for Keurig Single-Cup Brewers Coming From Green Mountain Coffee

ViewmediaI'd heard through the grape vine that Green Mountain was going to add some coffee to their K-Cups but had no idea they would add 20% more coffee. We were very pleased with the Green Mountain blends when we reviewed the Keurig B50 last year, but I'm really excited to try out the 20 percent more coffee in each K-Cup. I know that I prefer a stronger cup of coffee over a light roast - this should be interesting to see if dark coffee drinkers really think this new K-Cup meets their expectations.

Green Mountain Coffee Introduces ''Extra Bold'' K-Cups for Keurig Single-Cup Brewers:
WATERBURY, Vt.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 2, 2005--Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. (NASDAQ: GMCR) today introduced "Extra Bold" K-Cups(TM) in two varieties of coffee: Dark Magic and Fair Trade Certified(TM) Organic Sumatran Reserve. A K-Cup holds a single serving of ground coffee or tea. It is inserted into the Keurig(R) Single-Cup Brewer to create a fresh cup of coffee or tea in seconds. Single-cup brewers have been available in offices for years and are rapidly gaining acceptance in the home market.

The single-cup format provides an exceptional cup of coffee with the convenience of simply pressing a button. The new Extra Bold K-Cups contain over 20 percent more ground coffee than regular K-Cups, producing a more robust cup of coffee. Dark Magic has a spellbinding complexity--it is deep, dark, and intense. Fair Trade Certified(TM) Organic Sumatran Reserve resounds with lush, ripe fruit notes and has a syrupy richness.

The Extra Bold version of these coffees brings out their innate vibrancy and provides a more intense coffee experience. "The new Extra Bold K-Cups are an excellent option for coffee drinkers who prefer a stronger, fuller cup of coffee," said T.J. Whalen, Vice President of Marketing for Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. "The brew strength of these K-Cups competes head-on with the brew-strength found at many specialty coffee cafes. Now coffee lovers can enjoy a richer cup of coffee with the simplicity and convenience of a Keurig Single-Cup Brewer."

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. is a leader in the specialty coffee industry and offers over 100 coffee selections including estate, certified organic, Fair Trade Certified(TM), signature blends, and flavored coffees that it sells under the Green Mountain Coffee Roasters(R) and Newman's Own(R) Organics brands. While the majority of Green Mountain Coffee's revenue is derived from its wholesale operations, the Company also operates a direct mail business and an e-commerce website (www.GreenMountainCoffee.com) from its Waterbury, Vermont headquarters.

Each year the Company contributes at least five percent of its pre-tax profits to support socially responsible initiatives. Based on its performance, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters has been recognized for the past five years as one of Forbes Magazine's "200 Best Small Companies," for the past three years in the top ten on Business Ethics magazine's list of "100 Best Corporate Citizens," and in 2004 as one of the Society of Human Resource Management's "Best Medium Companies to Work for in America."
