Robert Maurer of Pennsylvania has sent in some Javana Pods for review. We've heard rumblings of these pods from some other sources, but had not been able to get them in the Boston area. We are trying to figure out exactly "WHO" makes the Javana Coffee Pods. We think Javana is an store brand for Tops Supermarket and Giant Supermarkets. Who knows? We'll find out before we finish the review. The Javana Coffee pods are designed to work with Home Cafe, Senseo, Bunn My Cafe, and other 62mm pods. The pods are of the 7gram size and it takes 2 pods to make an 8 oz cup.
Yes, Javana is the store coffee brand for Tops, Giant and Martins supermarkets. I have been waiting for these! I have Tops supermarkets in my area and Javana coffee is good. I especially like their swiss chocolate almond flavored coffee but I probably will only see hazelnut and french vanilla flavored Javana pods. I do wish that the pods available in stores (Java One, Millstone, Archer Farms, etc) would carry other flavors besides just hazelnut and french vanilla. A snickerdoodle or coconut flavored coffee pod for example would rock!

I absolutely LOVE the Javana pods. Out of the pods I've tried so far (Senseo, Millcreek, Folgers, Javana), Javana comes in 1st place by far. The Giant by me has them in "Breakfast Blend" & "Sumatra" - both are delicious, the "Sumatra" being slightly stronger.
Thanks for the info as to Javana being Giant's house brand. I wondered why I never saw them anywhere else.

Stop and Shop Grocery Stores in the Boston area claims ownership of the Javana coffee brand. That is where I got my Javana pods and Yes! they are better than all the others I have tried; I use only decaf, which really limits my selections. I own refillable pods, which broadens the selection, but they do take extra time. Also, you can buy flavor add-ins like vanilla and choc. hazelnut for variety.
