Review: JaVaNa One Sumatra Coffee Pods

Robert Maurer from PA sent us in a set of JaVaNa One coffee pods to review. The JaVaNa One pods can be found in Giant Food Stores and Stop & Shop branded food stores throughout the northeast and mid-atlantic states. We haven't found any place on the web you can order JaVaNa One pods but hopefully this will change in the future.
Each JaVaNa One coffee pod back holds 18, 7 gram coffee pods and works in Senseo, Bunn My Cafe, and other one cup coffee brewers. We found you'll need 2 pods to really get the cup of coffee you'll want to drink. They come packed very much like the Senseo or Maxwell House coffee pods, and for this review we focused on the Sumatra coffee pods and found that we liked what we brewed a whole lot.
Brewing up a JaVaNa One Cup of Coffee
We popped these into the Senseo (double pod holder) for this review and they filled up the pod holder of the machine very nicely. The Sumatra coffee pods have a great nose to them and also have a high quality filter material unlike the Maxwell House pods we tested a couple of weeks ago.
The brew produced from the JaVaNa One Cup Sumatran coffee pods was excellent. It's a rich crisp - dark cup of coffee with the earthy like flavor you'd expect from a good cup of Sumatran coffee. We liked this coffee so much we popped in all the other flavors over the course of last week and liked them as well.
Other flavors included:
- French Roast
- Breakfast Blend
- Columbian Decaf
They were all quite good. But the JaVaNa One Sumatra Coffee Pods were the best.
We are going to give these a 3.5 out of 5. We think if they came in a 10gram size instead of having to use 2 - 7 gram pods we would go 4. For a store brand set of coffee pods - these are among the best we've had.
