Touchscreen Coffee Tables from the Future

Hp Table

It's exciting to see touchscreen lcd technology used for something we're interested in. Imagine firing up your single serve coffee maker and then sitting down your coffee mug on your touch-screen lcd coffee table while pictures float by or you see your email pop-up. Maybe you'd like to then play a virtual board game? Whatever you do, this touch-screen coffee table is sure to make relaxing on the couch a little more difficult.

Misto, as it's known, developed by HP Labs, is basically a large touchscreen table that allows groups of fawning nerds to gather 'round to share pictures, play games, and occasionally spoil everyone else's fun by "accidentally" putting down their coaster at just the wrong moment. Apparently HP's actually shooting for commercial release by Thanksgiving of this year; here's to hoping they make it multi-touch capable.
