Review: Heifer Hope Blend K-Cups from Green Mountain Coffee
We've been drinking the Heifer Hope Blend K-Cups from Green Mountain Coffee over the past two weeks and think these new k-cups are delicious, complex, and have a very long lasting finish. These new K-Cups will work in your in your Keurig B40, B50, and B60 brewers.
Heifer Hope Blend was created to support Heifer International’s fight against world hunger. Green Mountain sourced coffee for this blend from the La Voz Cooperative in Guatemala. While Heifer teaches La Voz farmers ways to diversify their income, Green Mountain helps to supply a stable market for their coffee.
Tasting the Heifer Hope Blend K-Cups
We fired up our trusty Keurig B60 and brewed up a 5.25 ounce and 7.25 ounce cup of Heifer Hope Blend. The coffee has a distinct floral note in the aroma followed by a very smooth and interesting vanilla like flavor followed by a chocolate taste that is subtle. The flavors linger after your first sip, and you find yourself really enjoying the non-acid like finish sip after sip.
The Heifer Hope Blend K-Cups are also getting big kudos from other coffee reviewers including CoffeeReview.com:
(As brewed in a Keurig B60 single-serve brewing device using a "K-Cup" capsule at a cup volume of 5.25 ounces): A complex and rather exotic profile. Round, low-acid fruit (apple?) in the aroma, leaning toward chocolate, with a hint of flowers. In the cup lively, wine-like acidity, with apple, floral, chocolate, nutmeg-like spice notes. Chocolate and apple resurface in the long, quietly rich finish.
We've been brewing on the larger 7.25 ounce setting and find it to be as compelling as the smaller 5.25 ounce setting over the past week. What we like is how perfectly "coffee like" the Heifter Hope Blend is. What does that mean? When you drink a cup of coffee from the start you look for a great aroma, a great taste, and a great finish. The Heifer Hope Blend K-Cups have all of this.
We are going to give this a solid 4 out of 5 cups. Amazing for a blend, and one of the best light coffees we've had in quite awhile for Keurig.
