Folgers Simply Smooth Stomach-Friendly Coffee
Stomach friendly coffee. Stomach friendly coffee??? We're not saying we've never been bothered by drinking maybe 10 cups of coffee and feeling a bit of acid in our coffee laden stomachs - but from one cup or two? Never. We'd rather have great tasting coffee and a bit of weirdness in the stomach over some stomach friendly - not so great tasting coffee. Perhaps Simply Smooth from Folgers will have great taste too. Only time and a happy stomach will tell.
Proctor & Gamble is introducing "Folgers Simply Smooth", claiming to be the first nationally available stomach-friendly coffee in the United States. They say that some 35-40 million Americans have decreased or eliminated their coffee consumption due to weak stomachs. So, what makes it stomach-friendly? They say they use a special selection of coffee beans, and then roast it under a carefully monitored process. When the beans reach a certain color, they halt the roasting process and this is supposed to reduce the levels of gastric-irritants.
Folgers Simply Smooth will be available in medium-roast regular and decaffeinated varieties beginning in May 2006 at mass merchandisers, grocery and drug stores nationwide. We'll definitely try this our in our Keurig Reuseable Filter or our Eco-Pad for Senseo when it debuts.

I started drinking your simply smooth coffee about three and a half months ago. I love the flavor and at first I thought it was good for my stomach as far as acid issues go. Two and a half months ago I started having severe diaherrah and after a 20lb. weight loss and constant time in the restrooms and several public accidents and a colonostomy later I decided to try and see if it was the coffee. Three different times I went off the low acid coffee and my symptoms got better. I went to other coffees and I immeiately started getting better. I tried the three different times to make sure that was what was causing my problem. I certainly did not want to quit this coffee because I love the flavor and thought I had found the perfect coffee for me. I was very sick and even missed my first day back to work when school started. I thought I should let your company know about this so you can further study the method you use in which to make your coffee less acidic. Thank you for your time in this matter. My address is Sandy Williams, 8045 Buckley Run Rd. Athens, Ohio 45701 should you wish to contact me. Sincerely, Sandy
I love this coffee. I have had stomach problems for years and could never drink any type of coffee but it is great on the stomach.I can see people not buying it if they don't have stomach problems, but there is no flavor difference and for people with serious stomach issues it is wonderful!
Interesting. However, I think I will *simply not* purchase this. I buy my food, beverages and condiments for taste and am willing to accept whatever slight discomfort they may bring. However, what coffee does is negligible compared to the aftereffects of the Chinese chili sauce I had last night :)
