Starbucks to become "Starbooks"
Books? First music and now books? How about some single serve coffee pods Starbucks? It seems that Starbucks will soon be featuring books along with their usual picks of music and coffee.
Okay - we need to calm down but we really wish Starbucks wouldn't become "Starbooks" and would instead give us the option of their great coffee at home in the form of a coffee pod or whatever they desire. All that being said (and it was a mouthful), we do like Starbucks pushing some decent literature for people to sit and read over coffee.
After announcing in April that it was seeking movies and books to promote along with the music it already sells in stores, Starbucks has selected “For One More Day,” Mr. Albom’s second novel, as the first selection that it will feature in its new book program, according to people with knowledge of the deal who asked for anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss it.The novel, to be published by Hyperion on Sept. 26, will appear in Starbucks stores from the first week in October through the second week of November.

While not a big fan of Mr. Albom's writing, I applaud Starbucks in their effort to get America to read a book...I don't especially like Oprah either, but she's motivated people to read -- and that's not a bad thing...And nothing goes better than a good book and a good cup of coffee...However, I too, have been waiting patiently for Starbucks coffee to be made into some form of single serve...I have a Keurig and have been making my own K-cups with their Caffe Verona...Just imagine the time that I would save if I could pop a pre-made Starbucks K-cup in the machine -- time that could be spent reading a good book!...
