Revisiting the Simplehuman Single Cup Pod Brewer

P-Coffee-Pod-Brewer-2

As the Fall gets under way, we've been revisiting many of the single serve coffee makers that will be competing this Fall for your hard earned dollars. We really still feel the simplehuman Coffee Pod Brewer is one of the best designed machines around. It's got just about everything you would need in a single serve coffee maker - including a nice range of coffee pods from the simplehuman house brand Molto, a large reservoir, and different brew cup sizes to choose from. The simplehuman brewer will also take 10 gram coffee pods from other vendors including Cool Beans Coffee Pods, Aloha Island Coffee, and others.

We also love the coffee it produces - deep rich interesting cups of coffee are produced each time. If you're looking for something a bit more stylish and with the bells and whistles you'd expect a decent price - the simplehuman coffee pod brewer is for you. It's now available from simplehuman via Amazon.com for $129.95.

I've had this coffee maker now for several months. It makes a flawless hot cup of coffee in seconds. I have also been using the 12 oz. mega pods from Baronet for the last couple of months and they seem to work just fine.

Help! I love my simplehuman machine, but I just received my order of coffee pods from coffeewhiz.com & only one coffee...Java One...worked in the machine. The Green Mountain, Black Mountain Gold & Baronet 10 gram cofee pods didn't work. The coffee maker stopped brewing after ony 1 oz. It would work with the 9 gram pod from Java one. I don't want to be limited though. Do you think that the pods were too big or overpacked & it was a fluke? I saw in your review that the same pods were used. Help Please becasue I want to be able to try different pods. Thank you for your time. Kimberly

Most likely you're not pre-wetting the pods. 10 grams should work if seated properly. Be careful not to force the machine closed. If you want a machine with a larger pod holder you may want to try the Bunn My Cafe. But the simplehuman is a great machine.

I can't believe anyone would recommend this machine. Barely any pods work in it once you get beyond the Molto pods, which make a weak cup of coffee at best. Any pod of any substance that you put in this thing causes it to lock up and shut down. Sure, when it DOES work it makes a good cup, but it's a 50-50 proposition as to whether or not you'll actually get the coffee made. This is a terrible machine. I'll be getting rid of it.
