Europe: Senseo Presso Espresso Pods and Pod Holder

Presso Produkt1

We've just received word there's a new Senseo pod holder in Germany that makes Espresso. Presso - or short for espresso is the single serve coffee answer to making an even darker cup of single serve coffee with your Senseo. Presso is a combination of coffee pods with a finer espresso ground coffee and a new Senseo pod holder that increases the pressure while making a cup of Presso.

From the German Web site:

Enjoy with Senseo® presso It a small cup of strong, qualitatively high-quality coffee with fine Crema - and in the hand turning! But Douwe Egberts and Philips developed a completely new technology - consisting of the special Senseo® presso Pads and the special Senseo® presso PAD owners. Simply strongly.

There's even a starter set that includes the pod holder and everything you need to get started including Presso Pods.

SENSEO® PRESSO STARTER BOX Italian benefit from the outset - with the attractive Senseo® presso starter box. There is everything in it, which genuine Geniesser needs: Senseo® purifies 16 presso Kaffeepads as well as the new Senseo® presso coffee PAD owners. Now in the trade!

At Presso and thanks to CafePods for sending in this tip. We'll try and round one of these up over the next few weeks.

Just bought one off of eBay, as well. I still can't believe these haven't reached the US yet.

I live in Germany and we've had a Presso holder for about 3 months now and it works great. I cant really elaborate on what Jo said except that I have one of the 7810-15 version Senseo machines from early last year, and it works fine with it. In fact it even causes the auto shutoff to pour only a half cup of espresso instead of the full cup for coffee.

I just got back from a trip to Munich and picked up one of the Presso devices in a supermarket. It cost me just over 5 Euro's and included a pack of 16 "coffe pads". Let me tell you THIS THING IS FANTASTIC. It really makes a superior cup of coffee compared to what the regular Senseo insert can produce. I tried the two side by side in fact. I do not understand why this hasn't been released in the US, but IT SHOULD. Essentially it is a much stronger and thicker device with a smaller drip hole that allows pressure to build up both above and below the insert. It works nicely with the Presso coffee pads, but also works nicely with others as well. I tried makeing a double expresso with Java One coffe pods and had the best cup I ever had originating from these pods. Basically if you are going to Germany anytime soon - leave some room in your suitcase and get some of these. Beware - it only works with short spout Senseo machines (not older models)

I ordered one of these off eBay earlier this week and it just arrived this morning. It makes some seriously nice, strong espresso, I can definitely recommend it as worth picking up! eBay really is the easiest place to go for all this stuff.

Yeah, you can buy the starter pack on ebay for $15.68.

When it won't come to the US, ebay will find it anyway! Just bought this from someone in britain who sells Senseo stuff from germany. I'll be interested to see how the pod holder works, what the coffee tastes like, and if the new holder will improve the taste of other pods!

Why do they get all of the cool senseo things in Europe? This will probably NEVER come to the US :(
