Review: Jetboil French Press Hiking and Camping Personal Coffee Maker

Review from Single Serve Coffee.com - Coffee Pod Reviews Img 3094
The perfect portable single serve coffee maker for camping.

On a rather large clean out and then re-visit of past articles we've yet to publish (yes - we are bad - we know it), we have uncovered the Jetboil French Press that comes with Green Mountain Coffee. We really enjoyed the Jetboil French Pressed coffee last year with our family, so we decided to take it out for another spin and review, and to share some of the pictures we took last fall with some new ones on this impressive product for camping.

What is a Jetboil mini-stove? It's really a personal or group cooking system that has a burner and large cup to make drinks, soup, and other items in. It's very lightweight and compact, with everything you need fitting back inside the cup so you can hike or camp with it.

It's basically a portable gas burner. You can make soup
coffee and other items using it.

Here's the basics of how the Jetboil French Press works.

  1. Get some water and fill up the cup
  2. Light up the micro burner
  3. Boil the water
  4. Scoop in the coffee
  5. Stir the coffee into the boiling water
  6. Press it on down
  7. Drink some amazing coffee on the side of the mountain you're currently on.

You'll need to use this pre-measured spoon to whip in the coffee.

The Jetboil French Press fits right into the mug, so you can brew
up a mean cup of coffee.

The kit comes with Newman's Own from Green Mountain Coffee.

We really like the Jetboil French Press single cup coffee maker for hiking and camping. We've now used in on several fishing trips with our parents, and the kids love the entire process of watching the coffee brew up in the Jetboil French Press. We think you'll also like making some mac and cheese along with your single serve coffee as well. Thanks to Jetboil for sending this in.

Nice fish, Jay. Thanks for posting those pictures. But I think the little cutie with the green rubber ducky has the best catch of the day.
