Presso Espresso Maker - Science Meets Espresso
We just came upon the Presso Espresso maker when doing a bit of research on an upcoming review for the Senseo Presso kit we just acquired from an ebay seller. The presso looks more like a juice machine than an espresso maker, but from the video and materials we've found it looks like it makes a pretty solid espresso. From what we can see you fill the top chamber, put in some espresso ground coffee, and then press down. Bam - a shot of perfect espresso. The only way to buy right now seems to be from Australia at just over $600 AU, and that includes a grinder and other items.
You can see all the different features here. Looks pretty standard to us
sans no boiler and having to get your own hot water from somewhere.
From the site:
A Revolutionary way to make connoisseur espresso coffee at home. From the Design centre of Europe comes the innovation of the era. A multi award winning product that makes espresso as easy as one…two…three. PRESSO puts you in control.
We'll have to see if in the future this is a truly revolutionary espresso maker, but at Single Serve Coffee we tend to believe Presso looks promising.
Check out this video of the Presso in action and the creator of the Presso talking about the design.

I bought one of these at TJ Maxx for $6 about two years ago. It was an All Clad brand that originally retailed for $200. I don't know why I got, but I am so happy I did. We also scored one on eBay for $40 as a wedding gift. As one reviewer said, "This makes such great shots that I now have a $200 espresso maker and a $1,200 Bosch milk steamer on my counter." They make great espresso and they're awesome for camping - no glass.
