Picture_tassimobosch.jpg

Our good friend SH has written in to tell us more about the launch date and details of the new Bosch Tassimo single serve coffee hot beverage system that's coming to the US later this year. Two models of the TASSIMO hot beverage system by Bosch will be available in the U.S. in September 2008 with a MSRP of $139.99 in select specialty and department stores, and $99.99 in select grocery and mass merchandise stores. Both models will also be available online at www.tassimodirect.com.

Update: Read our Hands On Review of the Bosch Tassimo

There's also confirmation the new model will not have the messy overflow water, and will feature an LED user interface. Bosch's flow-through water heater ensures virtually no pre-heat time, since it only heats the water needed per beverage, and requires just a brief pause between uses. The removable water tank is easily accessible now, and the unit is simple to clean with a de-scaling maintenance disc. The two-step height adjustable and removable cup stand means that this unit is suitable for most cups, including travel mugs and heat-proof glasses.

We really hope they come out with different Tassimo colors like they have in Europe. The full details are after the jump and check out our earlier coverage of the Bosch Tassimo. While your waiting you can also read our review of the Tassimo Braun model available now.

NEW TASSIMO HOT BEVERAGE SYSTEM DELIVERS AN UNPARALLELED VARIETY OF QUALITY BEVERAGES

With Beverage Industry Leader Kraft Foods, Home Appliance Leader Bosch Debuts the TASSIMO Brewer Featuring Over 40 Drink Options

Premium manufacturer Bosch home appliances - part of BSH Home Appliances Corporation - and beverage industry leader Kraft Foods, will debut the new single-serve TASSIMO hot beverage system by Bosch at the 2008 Housewares Show (Booth #L13131). Offering over 40 hot beverage varieties through patented T DISC technology, TASSIMO brews premium coffeehouse quality beverages, including four distinct coffee blends from Starbucks(R). Hot beverage choices include coffee, real milk cappuccino and latte, espresso, crema, tea and hot chocolate. TASSIMO utilizes T DISCs, which guarantee first-cup freshness every time. This technology enables the machine to read the barcode on each T DISC, ensuring that the brew temperature and amount of water are automatically adjusted for the perfect cup. Featuring an energy-efficient flow-through water heater that virtually eliminates pre-heat time, the sleek and space-saving design of the TASSIMO by Bosch makes it highly versatile and convenient.

"The new TASSIMO by Bosch lets everyone in the family enjoy their own perfectly tasting drink of their choice, with the simple touch of a button," said Franz J. Bosshard, president and CEO, Bosch home appliances. "Utilizing our exclusive flow-through water heating technology, that we have perfected in our world-renowned dishwashers, TASSIMO creates an instantaneous and ideal brewing environment."

Variety

Only TASSIMO offers a choice of coffee, real milk cappuccino and latte, espresso, crema, tea and hot chocolate. Featuring Starbucks(R) coffee blends and other favorite North American and European brands, TASSIMO utilizes T DISC technology to deliver a perfect first-cup experience. Consumers can prepare premium quality drinks, one after another, with each cup tasting as fresh as the first.

Convenience

Fully automatic operation and an integrated LED user interface mean that consumers can trust the TASSIMO by Bosch to deliver a superior beverage, without the usual hassle and mess of traditional coffee makers. The T DISC is easily inserted into the brewer and operates with one touch of a button. The barcode on each automatically signals to the machine the optimal amount of water and temperature required for the perfect cup every time. The consumer is also able to adjust the beverage strength to his or her liking. Bosch's flow-through water heater ensures virtually no pre-heat time, since it only heats the water needed per beverage, and requires just a brief pause between uses. The removable water tank is easily accessible by the consumer and the unit is simple to clean with a de-scaling maintenance disc. The two-step height adjustable and removable cup stand means that this unit is suitable for most cups, including travel mugs and heat-proof glasses.

Quality

The unique TASSIMO by Bosch guarantees first-cup freshness every time, no matter what was brewed in the unit previously. The taste remains consistent and there is no flavor transfer. The brewer can even make real milk cappuccinos and lattes, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The advanced water filtration system also ensures that the water used is the best quality.

There is no way to override the barcode preference - however you can add more or less beverage depending on when you press or release the buttons. So you can stop brewing early or extend it.

Can you use your own preference of tea or coffee instead of the prepackaged blends? I don't like any of those prepackaged ones.
