Simplehuman Coffee Pod Brewer Discontinued - New Model in 2009
We've been getting lots of reader write-ins and comments that the simplehuman coffee pod brewer has been discontinued due to a high failure rate. Bummer. The simplehuman brewer has performed well over the past year here at Single Serve Coffee. We loved the design of the brewer sans it not having a true double coffee pod holder.
From a comment:
My 8 month old unit stopped working. I called SimpleHuman Customer service (5/12/08) and was told that the product has been discontinued due to a high failure rate. Got a 100% refund since I bought direct from their website. I imagine purchases from other sources will not be as lucky. I see it still offered for sale at other web sites. Beware! They are re-engineering a unit for 2009.
At least with the bad news there is some good news as well. Simplehuman expects to have a redesigned brewer out in 2009 for all your coffee pod brewing needs. We'll try and confirm these rumors as we find out more direct from the source.

This was discontinued quite sometime ago and I was hoping that a new redesigned unit would be introduced this year. I'm very interested to see what they come up with for 2009. :)
Mine failed spectacularly. Moved on to the Cusinart SS1 and it could not be a more superior machine - in every way.
I'm off all Simplehuman products until I hear that the QC is better. They worry far too much about looks and not nearly enough about durability and function.
