Roast Your Own Single Serve Coffee with a Breadmaker

P6070160-1.jpg

We've been following the various efforts of our Single Serve Coffee members home coffee roasting attempts, and this one is really interesting. It involves a bread machine, heating gun, fan, metal colander, oven mitt, and of course green Kenya AA coffee beans.

I started by carefully measuring out 1/2 lb of the beans. i thought being my first try i should only go for 1/2lb in case i really mess up. After trying a 'dry run' in the bread machine i determined it actually stirs the beans better with a larger amount, so i put the whole lb of beans in a bowl at the ready.

We'll let you read the rest by clicking the link below, but to sum it up - the results are good, and the satisfaction of roasting some coffee of your own (or his own in this case) is well worth the effort.
