Target Discontinues Archer Farms Coffee Pods

IMG_0335.JPG
We reviewed the Archer Farms French Vanilla
Coffee pods back in 2005.

It's a sad day, as many readers have written in that Target has discontinued it's line of Archer Farms coffee pods. We've gotten confirmation ourselves over the phone and email as well as this sent in from a reader below:

The Archer Farms coffee pod collection, including the Tierra Del Sol flavor. has been discontinued and will no longer be available. We regret any disappointment that this may cause.Since we take your comments very seriously, I’ve made sure to share your concerns with our Grocery and Buying teams for future purchasing decisions. So thanks for taking the time to share your questions.

Thanks for writing. Your feedback helps us improve our service commitment to you.

We don't believe the discontinuation of the Archer Farms coffee pods is any indication of the popularity or viability of the coffee pod in the single serve coffee world. The coffee pod has continued to grow in popularity, and Target has been phasing out the Archer Farms coffee pods for quite some time.

We reviewed many of the Archer Farms coffee pods, and really enjoyed them. But don't fret - Archer Farms coffee pods aren't the only coffee pods in town. You can get great coffee pods from Fratello, Baronet, Cool Beans, and other online merchants.

I actually noticed quite a lot of "clearance" tags on various Archer Farms branded items at my local Target store a few weeks ago. I think they may be clearing out a lot of the items that are not selling well enough to keep around and the coffee pods is just one of them.

I had a feeling something was going on at the Target stores here in Houston. This is really sad. The Tierra del sol coffee pods were, by far, after much trial and error my hands down quick fix favorite.I felt guilty buying them cause they were so cheap and good.

I think the pod system is dying away as I went searching for pods today. I had bought all the Archer Farms pods at Target when they went on clearance. Today my WalMart is not carrying pods and Bed, Bath, and Beyond has also phased them out. I am not a fan of Keurig which is now in all the stores. I will probably be forced to guy an automatic cappucino maker. I don't drink at Star Bucks.
