Starbucks Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate
We don't often cover drinks that Starbucks creates, but this one is different. After discovering this drink over at Kettle&Cup, we set out to have a sip or two of their new Starbucks Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate ourselves. The results are breathtaking - and between each sip is both a feeling of guilt (not wanting to share a sip with anyone) and true foodie delight. We found a recipe over at Kettle&Cup to make one at home too.
This delicious sweet and salty combination brings together our rich, indulgent Signature Hot Chocolate and the flavors of buttery caramel and smoked sea salt. It is topped with whipped cream, a swirl of caramel and a sprinkle of our sea salt topping - a combination of artisan sea salt and Turbinado sugar from Hawaii.
Do you have any ideas on how to make the Starbucks Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate at home to save money? We think the Tassimo might do this with ease or even the Krups Nescafe Dolce Gusto provided you can score the smokey salt and whipped cream, along with the drizzle of caramel. I tried this drink and was in love, but being a Tim Horton's addict, Starbucks is too steep in price. So, I tried ordering a Tim Horton's regular hot chocolate with a butter caramel flavor shot and it tastes darn near identical to the Starbucks version.
