2008 Holiday Gift Guide for Single Serve Coffee
2008 has been an incredible year for single serve coffee. With the introduction of the Bosch Tassimo Hot Beverage System, Nescafe Dolce Gusto, and Keurig Mini the choices can seem endless. We've divided up the guide by price to make your holiday shopping even easier, and we've picked out the best single serve coffee makers, coffee pods, k cups, coffee gadgets, coffee cups, and other super cool items single serve coffee items.
We really think if you're going to put the money down on a machine that does it all - check out the Nespresso Lattissima. We love the one touch cappuccinos and lattes, and the espresso and coffee produced from the machine is excellent. The Lattissima also comes in a variety of cool colors, and it's been a welcome addition to any coffee lovers kitchen for over 2 years.
We also think you might want to purchase two single serve coffee makers to get the most amazing coffee experiences like the Bosch Tassimo Hot Beverage System and the Nescafe Dolce Gusto. Why not have two? If you're willing to spend over $500 you should get the widest possible range of single serve coffee options, and while you're at it throw in a Keurig Mini.
We like the Lavazza Blue Home Edition from Cafe Razzi. The machine is small, and allows you to create just about any coffee drink you can think of. You can read our first impressions here.
We recommend the Nespresso Le Cube. The design is sharp and interesting and you'll have your hands full of espresso and single serve cups of coffee.
We really like the Bunn My Cafe, and the Cuisinart SS-1 Cup-O-Matic Single Serve Coffee Maker. The Keurig B70 is also in this price point, and uses K Cups and not coffee pods. You'll be entering the world of K Cups with the Keurig B70 and the world of coffee pods with your Cuisinart SS-1 Cup-O-Matic Single Serve Coffee Maker. Also if you want to impress, the Breville BKC600XL Gourmet Single Cup Brewer is pretty stunning, and our Keurig top choice.
Here's the world of the Senseo Supreme single serve coffee maker and also the Nespresso Essenza C100 . We love both of these. The Senseo Supreme will allow you to use the largest variety of coffee pods for your single serve dollar, and the Nespresso Essenza will get you in the Nespresso club on the cheap, but the espresso and single serve coffee will be very god.
On the Keurig front, the Keurig B60 rings in at only $149.99. It will get you into the Keurig club for a great price with almost all the features of the more expensive Keurig B70.
We love the classic Senseo for the price. It's only going to set you back ~$50-60 dollars and it can use a large variety of coffee pods. We also think the Keurig B40 will get you into the world of Keurig and K Cups for the right price. At $99 bucks the Keurig B40 can't be beat for ease of use and variety in single serve coffee.
The new winner for $79.99 this year is the Keurig Mini B30. You can use any K-Cups that the bigger Keurigs use, and the machine has a very small footprint. This is the perfect give for someone who has a single serve coffee maker at home like the Keurig B60, and wants to take their coffee to work. You can even purchase a tote bag to carry the Keurig Mini B30 in.
We recommend the Aeropress single serve coffee maker. It's not one you plug in, but you can hand craft and make perfect cups of single serve coffee every time. The best part - you can use whatever coffee you like and the coffee produced is amazing.
Make Your Own Single Serve Coffee Stuff
We highly recommend the Perfect Pod Coffee Pod Maker, and the Perfect Pod Holster.
The Perfect Pod maker allows you to make your own coffee pods when using the Cuisinart SS-1 Cup-O-Matic Single Serve Coffee Maker, Senseo, Bunn My Cafe, Melitta One:One, Grindmaster, and Krups Home Cafe single serve coffee pod brewers.
The Perfect Pod Holster allows you to use coffee pods you make or coffee pods you buy in your Keurig Elite B40 Brewer, Keurig B50, Keurig Special Edition Ultra Elite B60, Breville BKC600XL Gourmet Single Cup Brewer, and the Keurig B70 Brewer.
Aloha Island Coffee continues to impress with great coffee pods. We also really love the new Fratello coffee pods. Want to get something very fresh and super creative? We love the Bodum Pavina Double-Wall Thermo Glasses and we think you will too. This is a perfect gift for the coffee lover looking to be different and have their coffee look interesting while they drink it.
How can you go wrong with the BonJour Primo Latte Frother with Stand? For less than $30 bucks, you can have your milk frothed and enjoy a little more texture in your single serve coffee.
We also really like the Aeroccino Automatic Milk frother from Nespresso. It works and works well. You simply pour the milk in and hit the button, and in less than a minute, you have nice hot frothed milk.
