Improved Tassimo T65 Single Cup T-Disc Brewer Now Shipping

Tassimo is now shipping a new updated Tassimo T-65 single serve coffee maker. The Tassimo T65 Single Serve Coffee Maker will either ship in addition to the current Bosch T-45 or completely replace this brewer at retail (read our review of the Tassimo T-45 brewer here). We'll have exact details on the replacement versus new model as we find out. So what's new? The T-65 Tassimo Bosch single cup T-disc brewer features a new Multilingual LC display. We're pretty sure the multi-lingual display will help Tassimo launch into new and existing markets without the need to localize the machines for each market saving money. There's also a new set of lights for cup stand illumination.
Key new features of the
Tassimo T65 Single Serve Coffee Maker (

I just received the T65. Pressing the start button does not activate anything. I called the phone number in the product brochure and was told to return the unit-it's defective. Too bad...
I just picked up one of these at my local BB&B, I didn't think they would have the T65 but they did. It was priced at $199 but I had a 20% off coupon so I got it for $159. They had both on display (T45 and T65), I'm an Mechanical Engineer by profession so I had to study the visible differences.
Aside from the obvious, LCD, LED lights to illuminate the cup and the color, I really did not see much difference. However I did notice they updated the T-Disc holder design from the T45. Without tearing it apart that's all I could see for improvements and with this being our first one cup machine, I can't speak from experience on the performance.
So far we have tried Cappuccino and a few regular coffees, all turned out well and we are impressed. We researched several single cup machines narrowed it down to the Flavia Fusion, Tassimo and the Dolce Gusto. Decided on the Tassimo due to the large selection of drinks and availability at local stores.
I had the original Braun Tassimo and loved it...brewed coffee so hot that even when I added cream and sugar I didn't have to microwave it, and I like my coffee HOT. Then I bought the Bosch T45 and the coffee was not nearly as hot...even exchanged it for two other machines and they had the same problem.
I called Tassimo who said this shouldn't be the case (yeah, right). Now the T65 comes out and the coffee is way hot again. As usual in manufacturing...never admit your mistakes, just fix them in the next future product.
In any event, I love the T65...mainly because of the light and the little display that shows the coffee cup filling up while it's brewing. Like the SingleServeCoffee folks said in their review of the Gevalia Morning Roast, they like to stop the 12-oz cup at about 10 oz, and this makes it easy to at least stop the brewing process at the same spot each time by looking at the indicator, even if it's not actually in ounces.
All in all...a great upgrade from the T45 and highly recommended.
