In the early days it was touted as a one perfect cup coffee maker and most people do use it in this way. I actually know the owner/inventor and this was the intent. I think they broadened the definition. You should try one - it's really quite amazing and amazing at making one cup or several though we use ours to make one cup. Saying the Aeropress is a single serve coffee maker is like saying my 10-cup Krups filter drip maker is a single serve coffee maker. By this silly definition, anything can be a single serve coffee maker -- if you only have to use a low enough amount of coffee & water. Or assume massive serving sizes.
