Hands-on Review: Coava Coffee Disk filter for the Aeropress Single Serve Coffee Maker

The staff over at Geek.com have a rather extensive review of the Coava Cofee Disk filter for Aeropress (you can read our review of the Aeropress here). Coava Coffee metal filter remove the need for the use of paper filters, and also give you a more french pressed cup of single serve coffee from the Aeropress.

In the early days it was touted as a one perfect cup coffee maker and most people do use it in this way. I actually know the owner/inventor and this was the intent. I think they broadened the definition. You should try one - it's really quite amazing and amazing at making one cup or several though we use ours to make one cup.

Ah, no. It actually makes up to 4 cups. Saying the Aeropress is a single serve coffee maker is like saying my 10-cup Krups filter drip maker is a single serve coffee maker.

By this silly definition, anything can be a single serve coffee maker -- if you only have to use a low enough amount of coffee & water. Or assume massive serving sizes.

It is in fact a single serve coffee press. It makes one cup of coffee or shot of espresso at a time.

But what does an Aeropress have to do with single-serving coffee??
