Fiat Offers In-Car Espresso Maker

Well maybe not the World's First in-car espresso maker if you consider the HandPresso Auto, but close. Fiat will offer an option in the new, bigger, four-door 500L that goes on sale in Italy in October and in the rest of Europe shortly after.
Fiat claims the machine "is perfectly integrated in the car with a deck designed expressly by Fiat." The espresso machine comes with matching cups, is being made for Fiat by Italian coffee importer Lavazza, and uses the company's "A Modo Mio" coffee pods.

The 500L will offer the in-car espresso option.
We're not sure about the pick up line we're supposed to use when we offer that potential someone hot espresso, "Care for a drive and a shot?" Hmmm...we're going to just have to work on that over many drives and many shots of in-car espresso.

Having just read the Fiat statement "First Modo Mio in car", it is indeed correct as the Handpresso is an ESE version. But by the looks of it, it *is* an OEM Handpresso Auto, only with a customized Modo Mio holder. Marketing at its best probably. A disadvantage of the Handpresso could be that it is French, hence under an Italian livery it might get better accepted.
