Mr Coffee Keurig K-Cup Brewer Recall

Alan C. has written in to tell us Mr Coffee has launched a Recall web site In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada. Why has there been a recall of this brewer?
Jarden Consumer Solutions and Mr Coffee are announcing a voluntary recall for the Mr Coffee Single Cup Brewing System, Model BVMC-KG1 series. We have received reports that a build-up of steam can force the brewing chamber to open and expel hot coffee grounds and water, posing a burn hazard. Please note this recall is limited to the Mr. Coffee Single Cup Brewing System, Model BVMC-KG1 series in the United States and Canada.
To see if you're eligible visit the qualification site and enter in your brewer's info.

I received a Mr Coffee Keurig coffeemaker for Christmas. It was not used on a daily basis. It has quit brewing. It jumps from heat to brewing and I get nothing. I checked with the recall web site and it said my brewer was not covered under the recall. I have one ending in kg5 and they are only honoring the one that end in kg1. What do I do to recover?
I have one, and its part of the recall. They send you a package to send back the cord, then you need to wait an additional 2-3 weeks for the replacement. Too bad they do not allow you to put a deposit down or something in order to get the replacement machine first then send back the cord. Expect to be without single serv coffee for 4-6 weeks.
So, I am looking to upgrade to a bigger machine and then sell this new unit once I receive it.
Very disappointing on how they are handling this recall.
