It should be interesting to see where the price falls for this. A disc burr grinder starts at around $40 on the low side. A conical burr grinder starts out around $90 and goes up from there. I’m also wondering if they will charge a premium because of its single serve compatibility.
I’m also glad to see that it comes with a standard cup attachment so that it’s not limited to the SoloFill filter. As nice as it is to use fresh grounds in a single serve machine the 7 to 10 grams of coffee just don’t do justice to a really good, fresh roasted bean. To get the full flavor of the beans, you want to use about 20 grams of coffee to an 8 ounce cup.
Just wanted to note that, according to the news section on their site, Solofill will be at the 2013 International Housewares Show (Booth #S4340) in Chicago from March 2-5.
So for any of our Chicago readers out there, feel free to stop by, check this product out and let us know what you think (photos would be nice if such is allowed on-site at the booth as well as any confirmation of MSRP pricing)
You can view a bit more info via Solofill's product info sheet for the SoloGrind here: http://www.housewares.org/show/exhibit/dir/files/1878039931_SoloGrind%20Catalog.jpg
The sheet also confirms that the new Solofill K3 Chrome filter (which we'll be reviewing in the coming weeks) is INCLUDED with the SoloGrind, so that makes for a nice added bonus. For those of you who are just looking for a decent grinder, an interchangeable container for ground coffee is also included with the SoloGrind.
