What's Better? 5-Hour Energy or Coffee?
If you've been drinking single serve cans of 5 hour energy over drinking a cup of single serve coffee then you could be in for a shock. A recent study had students consume either 5-Hour Energy, caffeine, or water before performing an attention task. Scientists found that the energy drink and caffeine both improved alertness better than the placebo, but there was no difference in brainwave responses between them.
And because that 5 hour energy drink has a bunch of other stuff that scientist don't know the long term affect of - they in the end recommend our good old friend coffee over using a 5 hour energy drink in it's place. The calories are the same and coffee has been under study for far longer.
