Is this a Senseo or a Liquid Soap Dispenser?

Senseo or soap dispenser

If you want to know where old single serve coffee makers go when they retire it appears they turn into soap dispensers. We had several readers write in about the Nine Star Automatic Liquid-Soap Dispenser and how much it looks like the Senseo single serve coffee pod brewer. It's like they took the design of the Senseo's back tank and turned the top into a soap pump. Right?

We can only imagine the factory that had to stop making Senseos with all those molds and then some prototype molds said, "Hey - let's turn the main reservoir into a soap dispenser. Everyone will want one." Well if being on a Groupon is any indication it looks like they didn't sell very well.

If you really want a Senseo Soap Dispenser here are the specs:

The Nine Stars Automatic Liquid-Soap Dispenser features a motion sensor that detects nearby hands, sponges, or foam fingers, releasing a perfectly portioned dollop of soap.

  • Automatic soap dispenser
  • Motion activated
  • Hygienic option for kitchen or bathroom
  • Lasts about 7,000 cycles before battery change
  • Requires 4 AAA batteries (not included)
  • 8 oz. capacity
  • Dimensions: 3" (L) x 4" (W) x 8" (H)

We do miss the Senseo and since it was our first single serve coffee maker maybe having it around in a soap dispenser form will make the loss feel better. It should at least get us clean hands to make our single cups of coffee.
