We fell in love with this coffee table the minute we saw it. We love the curved ends and the simple storage. This is part of Chris Jamison's Plywood Office furniture collection.
The range focuses on handcrafted wood and bamboo furniture with conservative lines and clever detailing. The table is part of a Stripe(s) Series of furniture Chris is offering and is appropriately named the Stripe's Series Coffee Table.

Review: Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Fair Trade Island Coconut™ K-Cups from Single Serve Coffee.com
We've spent the last day drinking the new Fair Trade Island Coconut from Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. This new Fair Trade K-Cup for is for your Keurig brewer and we're quite impressed. This is the first coconut flavored coffee we've had here at SingleServeCoffee.com and we think it's quite yummy.
Green Mountain describes this coffee as:
Indulge your senses with this delightfully fragrant, tropical taste treat. We've captured the lush aroma of freshly grated coconut — fruity, fresh, exotic — and blended it with the subtle sweetness of a lightly-roasted, Central American coffee. The result is as refreshing as it is unexpected. Be transported to your own private island paradise with our Fair Trade Island Coconut... it's one sweet destination!
It's a light refreshing cup of coffee. You can almost feel the coconut oil on your tongue after each sip. The coffee has a wonderful aroma of coconut as well - almost hypnotic. Though the coffee is considered light and flavored, we also found the coffee to be bold in the taste category.
Imagine fueling your morning with a few dozen shots of "mad cow espresso"! Now Ascasco calls this their "Dream Cow Crazy" espresso machine and perhaps that's as close to mad cow espresso as you'll get. The machine is Hand assembled and features a 16 bar pump espresso machine adaptable for use with ground coffee or coffeeservings (ESE). So if you like single serve coffee, perhaps some ESE espresso pods and a little steamed milk would also be a nice addition to your kitchen.
Back in January, the staff here at Single Serve Coffee.com had been kicking the tires on the new Aerobie Aeropress. We really liked this unique and interesting single serve coffee maker and after our review started to get lots of feedback from other readers who had purchased the Aeropress.
What was really interesting was how many people saw the Aeropress as the perfect single serve coffee maker to take to work so they could get espresso and a cafe americano. Paul Stefano wrote us and provided this killer reader review on the new Aerobie Aeropress that we'd like to share.
We're pretty excited to compare the Senseo Cappuccino coffee pods to the Home Cafe Cappuccino coffee pods. Priced at $19.99 for 40 Cappuccino coffee pods at Amazon.com and others, puts the price per cappuccino at $.50 cents. Not bad. We'll give you the full run down very soon and may even try to get one of these into some of the other single serve coffee pod machines.
Made from the finest gourmet beans, these single-serve coffee pods provide premium coffee sealed inside their own filter for a smooth and balanced taste every time. The Cappuccino coffee pods offer a rich, creamy, frothy layer that will be sure to satisfy the most discriminating cappuccino aficionado. Depending on personal preference, the pods can be doubled up for a stronger cup of coffee, and for mess-free disposal, the pods are virtually drip-free. Senseo coffee pods are also available in Dark Roast, Mild Roast, and Decaffeinated Medium Roast. Made specifically for the Senseo coffee machine, the four-pack includes 40 fresh and flavorful single-serve coffee pods.

Timothy's World Coffee has sent coffee pods of each of the different coffee pods available currently. We've reviewed a number of Timothy's K-Cups over the past year and have found all of their coffees to be quite excellent. Expect a full review soon.
The Pods are 57mm and weigh in at approx 10 grams:
Breakfast Blend (Mild)
Colombian Dorado (Medium)
Italian (Dark)
Rainforest Espresso (Dark)
Decaf Colombian
Noisette Hazel Nut (Flavored)
These coffee pods will work in your Senseo, Bunn MCP My Cafe, Krups KP1010 Home Cafe, and simplehuman single serve coffee pod brewers. We'll have a full set of recommendations of settings for the various single serve coffee pod makers in the review.
We think we need a littlw "WHIRL" in our single serve coffee. Hong Kong's Gadget Store Brando just put on sale the ultimate coffee cup to get your morning "WHIRL" started! The Whirl Wind Cup stirs your coffee automatically by pushing a button.
Who really needs to stir your cup of single serve coffee using - what? A spoon? Coffee stirrer? Not for the staff at Single Serve Coffee.com - we're joining the future of stirring. The Whirl Wind Cup is powered by 2 AAA batteries and can also be used as a small stirring machine. The Whirl Wind Cup sells for $22 on Brando and Brando also has a video of the cup in action on the product page.

Review: Newman's Own Special Blend Extra Bold K-Cups from Single Serve Coffee.com
We first heard about these new K-Cups just over a month ago and we were pretty excited to try out a medium/dark extra bold K-Cup from Green Mountain Coffee and Newman's Own. It's really nice to know Paul Newman donates all of the proceeds after taxes to the products he sells to various charities. What's even better? Drinking a cup of great coffee and knowing you are helping out as well.
The story behind this K-Cup blend of dark and medium roast coffees?
"Did we mention that Paul likes his coffee roasted dark? Or that Nell prefers a lighter touch? Put 'em both together and this is what you get... a study in contrasts that satisfies everybody. This inspired blend of medium roasted Central American coffees and darker-roasted Indonesians is rich and robust, with ample body to stand up to all the cream and sugar that you might want to add to the party. Which is precisely how Pa takes his... this is his favorite blend, after all. "For fans of both dark and light roasts."
We fired up our trusty Keurig B60 (these K-Cups will work in your Keurig B40, B50, and B60 brewers, and sat down with a little cream and sugar shots to make a nice hot cup of Newman's Own Special Blend Extra Bold K-Cups. The initial brew before cream and sugar was very dark with a spicy nose.
Everyone here at Single Serve Coffee.com is aware of the huge contribution our troops are making on the war in Iraq and we also know they shouldn't have to drink "drip" coffee. Yuck! We recently found out that a dedicated Single Serve Coffee "evelbug" is going on another 3 month tour with the United States Air Force and the entire Single Serve Coffee Forums community has rallied around making sure he has Krups Single Serve Coffee Maker and a ton of coffee pods to choose from while serving his country overseas.
Jim Evans from CoffeeWhiz.com has generously donated of a ton of coffee pods and is shipping everything out, Baronet Coffee is also donating lots of coffee pods, Single Serve Coffee.com has donated the Krups Coffee Machine, and the rest of the Single Serve Coffee.com Forums community is donating coffee pods to send over to evelbug as well.
Thanks to everyone for making this happen and a big thanks to "Michfan" for organizing this. Everyone here at Single Serve Coffee.com wants to wish evelbug a safe return to the US soon.
Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Fair Trade Island Coconut™
Green Mountain Coffee Roasters has released a new Fair Trade K-Cup for your Keurig brewer - Fair Trade Island Coconut™. We love coconut and can imagine this has got to be yummy. We'll see if we can get our hands on a box and should have a full review soon.
First Impressions: Nescafe Coffee Pods with Toppings
Wendy from Typical Dutch Stuff has sent over the newly released Nescafe Coffee Pods with toppings. These new pods are a totally new concept because each box contains 8 individually wrapped coffee pods and 8 individually wrapped toppings. You place the pod in the machine and the topping in your cup. You then stir through the coffee when it is still brewing and enjoy a cappuccino, cafe au lait, or chocolate coffee, for only €0.62 or roughly 0.74 USD a cup before shipping.
We've been sampling the three different flavors over the past few days and wanted to give first impressions on this interesting set of pods and toppings. First of all - putting the powder into the cup and watching the machine brew up a cup while the hot coffee goes into the large pile of powder isn't that appealing to look at but the results are tasty. We don't think any of these are the best Cafe Late we've ever had or the best Cappuccino but they're light years ahead of the Home Cafe Cappuccino.
What's interesting is how the toppings are not really toppings but more like filler to the overall cup and really make the coffee a bit thicker and have a milk flavor right out of the single serve coffee maker. This makes the toppings really a supporting cast instead of an overbearing flavor.
Review: Grindmaster GPOD PrecisionBrew™ Single Cup Brewing System from Single Serve Coffee.com
It's been over a year since we last learned of the fabled Grindmaster Consumer PrecisionBrew single serve coffee maker. We had thought back then it would be only a few months before it came out, but like some consumer products, you just have to wait and the product will come out when it wants to not when you'd like it to.
We're pretty excited to say - the wait was worth it. The Grindmaster GPOD PrecisionBrew™ Single Cup Brewing System has a small footprint, easy to use features, and can make a mild or strong cup of single serve coffee using coffee pods with ease. The machine is both attractive and is one of the best mid-ranged priced coffee pod brewers we've tested over the past two years.
It's official! You can now purchase Tully's K-Cups for Keurig systems! We recently had the pleasure to review this new K-Cups from Tully's and we have to say - great stuff! Check out our full review here.
"Tully's offers ten new varieties of Coffee—including the first Kona blend coffee in K-Cups! The Tully's Roast ultimately exhibits the wonderful complexities and nuances of the coffee bean. Tully's roasts dark enough to eliminate undesirable flavor notes. They stop just short of the "charred" or "burnt" spectrum favored by other roasters. The end result of this deliberate process can be found in each and every cup of Tully's Coffee. Try Tully's today! Select from Extra Bold Medium Roast , Light Roast , Decaf or browse below."
What a week! Everyone here at Blogpire Productions is anxiously awaiting all the craziness of St. Patrick's Day across the land along with a slew of new info from Cebit. Also check out the latest from The Cooking News for St. Patrick's Day recipes.

Review: Vanilla Nut Coffee Pods from Pod Pack International
We've been in a furious round of coffee pod testing all week not letting the new Grindmaster GPOD Single Serve Coffee brewer get a free moment and decided to run a round of the new Pod Pack International coffee pods through it this week as well. Pod Pack International makes over 10 flavors for your for Senseo, Bunn My Cafe, Krups Home Cafe, and simplehuman single serve coffee pod brewers.
Pods are sold 18 per dispenser carton with 4 dispenser cartons in a shipping case and you can choose up to 4 different blends for each shipping case. Minimum order is 1 shipping case but pods are reasonably priced at $3.95 for regular flavors and $4.95 for flavored and decaf .
The following flavors are available in 9 gram single packed pods:
House Blend Regular
House Blend Decaffeinated
100% Columbian
Breakfast Blend
French Roast
Hazelnut
Vanilla Nut
Guatemala Antigua
Irish Cream
Sumatra
We decided to go with Vanilla Nut for this review as we've had a craving for something other than the dark coffee we've been testing with all week. The first thing we noticed was the attractive packaging of the One Cup coffee pods from Pod Pack. Each comes individually wrapped and weighs in at 9.3 grams per pod according to our scale. That makes sense as Pod Pack claims 9 grams of coffee in each pod and with the filter you could easily add the other .3 grams into the overall coffee pod weight.
Tassimo Launches New Brewer Model and Expands Line of T DISC Flavors
Okay - don't get too excited yet, but the new Tassimo model will be available in August of 2006 (that's just one year from the original launch date) and will retail for $129.99. They'll also add about 3-4 new flavors in the Fall and most will only be available online. Full release below and after the jump.
Following the successful launch of the Tassimo Premium Hot Beverage System last fall, Tassimo will introduce a new model in August 2006, which will be offered to select mass, grocery and club retailers. The new model, which will debut at the International Home and Housewares Show from March 12-14 at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL, will be available at a suggested retail price of $129.99.
Tassimo will also launch the Maxwell House Cafe Collection of T DISCS at select stores. The Maxwell House Cafe Collection features 100% Arabica custom blended coffees and beverages, which are roasted and ground exclusively for Tassimo. Additional Tassimo varieties launching in August include Yuban Rainforest Alliance, Twinings Green Tea and Chamomile Orange Tea (online only). All Tassimo T DISCS, including Gevalia beverages, Twinings teas and Suchard hot chocolate, can be used in both the Tassimo and the Tassimo Premium Hot Beverage Systems.
Europe: Nescafe Coffee Pods with Toppings Arrive for Review
Wendy from Typical Dutch Stuff has sent over the newly released Nescafe Coffee Pods with toppings. These new pods are a totally new concept because each box contains 8 individually wrapped coffee pods and 8 individually wrapped toppings. You place the pod in the machine and the topping in your cup. You then stir through the coffee when it is still brewing and enjoy a cappuccino, cafe au lait, or chocolate coffee, for only €0.62 or roughly 0.74 USD a cup before shipping.
These new Nescafe coffee pods and toppings come in three flavors: Caffe Cioccolato (chocolate), Cappucino, and Cafe au Lait. We'll have full run down next week on these as we finish up our reviews of the FLAVIA Fusion and Grindmaster GPOD this week. We'll also put these into the GPOD to see how it compares to the Senseo.
We've been using the new FLAVIA FUSION Drinks Station for over a week now and we have one thing to say, "This machine makes a ton of different hot drinks." It's nothing short of staggering the amount of different combinations you can make with the FLAVIA FUSION. We're not saying just because the FLAVIA FUSION can make a ton of different beverages that they're all amazing though.
The FLAVIA FUSION can make Coffees, Fresh Leaf Teas, LATTES, Cappuccinos, Hot Chocolate and other drinks. They even have a Wellbeing line of teas with vitamins in them. You can even mix up your own "hot cocktail" by Mixing and Matching from they're entire line of syrups and sprinkles you can purchase along with the coffee and teas.
The interesting thing about the FLAVIA FUSION for everyone here at Single Serve Coffee is the fact the brewing happens inside the filter pack much like the Tassimo. Because brewing happens inside the filter pack, there is really no cleaning of the machine or mixing of a tea or coffee for taste.
It's exciting to see touchscreen lcd technology used for something we're interested in. Imagine firing up your single serve coffee maker and then sitting down your coffee mug on your touch-screen lcd coffee table while pictures float by or you see your email pop-up. Maybe you'd like to then play a virtual board game? Whatever you do, this touch-screen coffee table is sure to make relaxing on the couch a little more difficult.
Misto, as it's known, developed by HP Labs, is basically a large touchscreen table that allows groups of fawning nerds to gather 'round to share pictures, play games, and occasionally spoil everyone else's fun by "accidentally" putting down their coaster at just the wrong moment. Apparently HP's actually shooting for commercial release by Thanksgiving of this year; here's to hoping they make it multi-touch capable.
Make a great cup of Joe with the latest Single Serve Coffee Makers
It's not often the larger news media can get an article right on Single Serve Coffee, but this one from MSNBC.com does. There's also some killer information on coffee along with some of the writers picks on espresso machines.
Remember when you could go to a diner or coffee shop and pay 50 cents for a good tasting “bottomless” cup of coffee? That brew might still exist in some small cities and towns, but for most Americans the price of a cup of coffee easily tops two bucks. Want a latte or cappuccino and you'll most likely be paying with a five-dollar bill and have just enough change for the tip jar.
Learn to Pick the Most Luscious Wines on the Planet for Under $20 at CheapFunWines.com
We're pretty excited here at Blogpire Productions to tell you about our new site - Cheap Fun Wines.
How many times have you shelled out ten bucks for a bottle of wine only to have your hopes dashed when you poured the first glass? The staff at www.CheapFunWines.com is here to help. They're goal is to find the most luscious bottles of affordable wine on the planet for under $20.
Kim and the staff at CheapFunWines.com love wine. There is little in life that’s more fun for them than pouring a new wine or revisiting an old favorite.
What they don’t love is wine snobbery. At www.CheapFunWines they'll promise to write about wine in plain English and make fun of people who don’t. That said, they don't profess to be a wine experts. They're totally wine beginners - each with a keen sense of smell, a decent palate, a passion to learn, and a sense of humor.
For the past six years, the staff at CheapFunWines.com has often trekked to wineries in Napa and Sonoma, trying dozens of reds and whites. Slowly, they've learned what they like (Full-bodied Cab and peppery Syrah) and don't like (Bombastic fruity Zin and overblown Chardonnay).
At CheapFunWines the staff won’t always be right. They won’t always use the proper wine vocabulary. But that’s OK. They're all learning together. So pop a cork and join them on a fun journey to a cheaper, better bottle of vino. And send them your favorites!
We've just received the entire Cafepods line to review here at Single Serve Coffee.com and fast! It took from 3/3/06 on Friday to Monday 3/6/06 to have them ship from the UK. It took only 2 days to ship when you take out Sunday.
We'll be taking a hard look at these coffee pods over the next week or so and expect a full run down of what we've sampled. It's good to note that Cafepods come packed two-8 gram pods to a pack, and three of their coffee pods also come in the 14 gram double pod size and are single packed.
Buying 200 pods and getting the free shipping will run you roughly $108 from the UK and putting the price per pod ~$.50 cents per pod - not bad for super fresh pods you can't get anywhere else. These coffee pods will work in your Senseo, Bunn My Cafe, Krups Home Cafe, and simplehuman single serve coffee pod brewers.

First Impressions: Grindmaster GPOD PrecisionBrew Single Cup Brewing System
We primed and fired up the Grindmaster PrecisionBrew Single Cup Brewing System yesterday and proceeded to sample the various cups of coffee using a variety of coffee pods. This machine will take 7-10 gram coffee pods and so far the coffee produced has been quite good.
We're really impressed with the footprint of the brewer along with the quality you feel right away. Many of the brewers we've tested are just too big for our tastes but this machine is dead on for size. It just feels right.
We're also quite impressed with the controls and the simplicity of making a decent cup of coffee by using the patented Grindmaster PrecisionBrew brew strength control. When we reviewed the earlier commercial Grindmaster brewer we enjoyed these features but we think the simplicity of this machine and adjusting the brew strength is much easier along with the interrupt brewing feature of the new GPOD allows for a variable cup size without the fuss of changing the machine settings.
One of the things we like right away is the light on the brew button. It can turn Green for ready to brew, Aqua flashes for - "Hey I need WATER", Red light for warming up, Purple light for first priming the machine, and Yellow when the coffee pod brew chamber is not closed properly. Good stuff and easy to remember after a couple of attempts at brewing.
The machine also comes preset at 197 degrees F and so far the coffee produced has been piping hot and when tested at this temperature. We're also not getting any plastic taste or other unpleasantries out of the box and with initial brewing. The cup volume is a solid 8-8.5 ounces depending on the size of the pod we've used. The coffee pod will eat up a good ounce of water producing a cup around that size.
We'll have more as we discover the features of the new Grindmaster PrecisionBrew Single Cup Brewing System.
We've just received the FLAVIA FUSION Drinks Station to review. So far we're impressed with the shear amount of hot beverages you can make and the Sumatra coffee isn't bad at all. We'll be testing out this "Drink Station" over the next two weeks and expect our first impressions soon.

Cafepods Launches Online Store Dedicated to US Customers
Remember Cafepods? We do. Back in 2004 when we launched Single Serve Coffee.com they were the only place you could get pods for your Senseo, Bunn My Cafe, Krups Home Cafe, and simplehuman single serve coffee pod brewers. Because Cafepods was UK based the US Government made it a total pain to ship order direct to the US. Well now that trouble is gone.
Cafepods has a dedicated US website and they ship UPS Air Express for as low as $14.95, and with orders placed over $100 bucks, your order will ship FREE! All Cafepods Coffee pods use freshly roasted coffee, ground and measured to exact requirement weight then encapsulated in paper.
You may want to read our review of their French Vanilla Pods way back in June of 2004 to get more familiar with Cafepods US (Easypods.co.uk in Europe). We'll be getting a set of their new coffee pods to review very soon.
Wendy from Typical Dutch Stuff sent in some interesting news regarding new T-Pads (okay in the US we call them Pods not Pads) from Pickwick designed for Senseo. The kit even includes a tea pod holder designed to brew up a better cup of tea.
As of March 13, Senseo and Pickwick's latest addition for the Senseo will be available for purchase. They have created four different tea pods: Tempting Red, Early Grey, Minty Green, and Lemon & Lime. We will be offering a special starters set, which includes all the new flavors and a special T-Pod holder for the Senseo.
