Nearly 2 years ago we reviewed the 100% Kona Coffee pods from Aloha Island Coffee, and we thought it was time that we revisited these yummy coffee pods and see if we were - well - still in love. We received 3 different coffee pod packs of their coffee pods, and will be sampling these in your Senseo, Bunn MCP My Cafe, Krups KP1010 Home Cafe, and simplehuman single serve coffee pod brewers.
We are anxious to try the new flavors of Light roast, Medium roast, Dark roast, Espresso roast, Decaf, Hazelnut, French Vanilla, and Chocolate Macadamia Nut coffee pods. Most of these are a blend of 20% Kona and 80% Hawaiian Coffees, however we did receive their Platinum 100% Kona Coffee pods in a 10 gram size.

Green Mountain French Roast Coffee Pods for Senseo and Home Cafe
CoffeeWhiz.com has the latest coffee pod offerings from Green Mountain. We've tried the French Roast coffee pods and really like them. The coffee is just as strong, deep, dark, and rich when compared to a similiar cup of drip or k-cup french roast. We recommend wetting your pods a bit before brewing to get the best seal.
Note these are for your Senseo, Bunn My Cafe, Krups Home Cafe, and simplehuman single serve coffee pod brewers. Since these are "Coffee Pods" they will not work in your Keurig single serve coffee brewers.
We talk about the summer "best of" from Shavingstuff.com as well as other products and news from around the 'pire. We also answer your questions from the past couple of weeks so keep sending them in to podcast at blogpire dot com.

Nespresso Siemens by Porsche Design Single Serve Coffee Maker
It's definitely got that Porsche curve and style! We've really enjoyed our Nespresso C90 for a perfect cup of single serve coffee lungo sized, and think we'd like this Porsche designed model as well.
The new Porsche designe Nespresso includes a frother and a clock unlike our lower priced C90 along with a slew of other features. We think the stainless steel exterior is nothing short of stunning.
What would be really amazing? How about getting one of these in the car and perhaps making my car run on excellent coffee and not just fossil fuels. We're not sure it's available in the US but is availalble in Switzerland for 1529 Fr.
* High-pressure pump (19 bar)
* Thermoblock heating element
* Automatic cup volume control (Espresso, Lungo, Macchiato, Cappuccino)
* Automatic insertion and ejection of capsule
* Digital display in 8 languages
* New steam pipe with integrated Cappuccino – Caffelatte function
* Automatic cool down after steam function usage
You know you want it. A coffee table that has a PC which includes a TV tuner, a 160GB HDD, a special LCD for displaying the weather, and is liquid cooled to keep things nice and quiet.
There's also WiFi for streaming your media wirelessly and perhaps we could even fire up some eBooks for some coffee table reading.
Throw a Senseo Single Serve Coffee Party with Your Friends
We've gotten a pretty cool opportunity on how to receive a Senseo single serve coffee maker for FREE (you can read our review here).
Single Serve Coffee and the folks that make the Senseo coffee pod system are offering the faithful readers of SingleServeCoffee.com the opportunity to try the Senseo machine, share it with friends, and then provide some feedback on the machine. All you need to do to receive the FREE Senseo coffee machine, 18 coffee pods, and get FREE shipping is fill out a short questionnaire.
We're pretty sure this Senseo video is from our European cousins somewhere in Denmark. The closing mechanism on this Senseo single serve coffee maker is not like the US version. We also like to think we keep our kitchen and Senseo a bit cleaner than what's shown in the video.
We still think the Krups is the best of the single serve coffee makers in the Home Cafe line of single serve coffee makers. We like the two cups at a time (wait - isn't this single serve coffee?) and the clean design of the machine. It also just makes a great cup of single serve coffee and we feel our review earlier this year still stands true - "A solid machine for the Home Cafe line of single serve coffee makers."
As the summer draws to an end and we're getting ready for back to school and other fall wonders, we thought we'd point out a set of articles we ran earlier in the year detailing a return to Tassimo and a re-review of sorts.
Here's a look back at Tassimo over the last few months and some recent reviews:
We've been enjoying making perfect cups of single serve coffee with our C90 Nespresso single serve coffee maker (read our review here) and we think this demo does a good job of showing you how it's done. The C190 has a few more features than the C90 but we think the different machines all do a really good job.
So, if you are interested in the world of espresso, and want to check out a little bit of what's happening, you can go check out our sister site, SingleServeEspresso.com. Over the last couple of weeks, They've reviewed some excellent Lavazza ESE espresso pods (For ESE Makers only), highlighted some great ways to start your career as a Latte Artist, and showed us some pretty cool espresso glasses that are now available from designer Serse Freddo.

Get European Senseo Coffee Pods at Typical Dutch Stuff
We've recently gotten a bunch of emails regarding how to get other Senseo coffee pods from our European cousins and we know of one place that you can do such a thing: Typical Dutch Stuff. Typical Dutch Stuff has a nearly every European coffee pod that will work in not just your Senseo single serve coffee maker but also your Senseo, Bunn My Cafe, Krups Home Cafe, and simplehuman single serve coffee pod brewers.
From Typical Dutch Stuff:All the pods we offer have the same diameter (62mm) as the original Douwe Egberts pods. Please be careful with ordering pods from other brands that are not showed on this website. If the diameter of a pod is slightly different, your coffee probably will end up watery and not worth your money. Also, all of our pods are suitable for most single serve coffee makers.
Back to School Pick: Grindmaster GPOD Precision Brewer and Kona Coffee Pods
If you're looking for a great back to school single serve coffee brewer with "POD" in the name, we think the combination of a new Grindmaster Brewer at $199.99 and some kona coffee pods could make you the only person with a GPOD to go along with your new iPod. We reviewed the Grindmaster GPOD PrecisionBrew single cup brewing system not too long ago and we really liked it.
Hamilton Beach BrewStation Deluxe Single Serve Coffeemaker
It may make 12 cups total, but it dispenses them one cup at a time. We think this brings back the thought - just when you thought you had left the world of drip coffee and decided on a single serve coffee maker - they pull you back in again. The Hamilton Beach BrewStation® Deluxe 12 Cup Coffeemaker has all the bells and whistles you'd expect for a drip coffee maker with the convenience of single serve coffee.
One-hand dispensing--no carafe, no pouring, no spills
Coffee stays fresh longer
Four brew modes: Normal, Decaf, Flavor +™ and 1-4 cups
Gentle warming heater
No hot plate to scorch coffee flavor
Programmable clock/timer with adjustable auto shutoff
We're not sure where this person got the required tools they're using to smoosh and turn the coffee into a coffee pod, but the general idea is there from watching the video.
Here are the steps: Get something to hold a traditional coffee filter, fill it with about an ounce of coffee, get another cup sized thing to turn and smoosh the coffee filter into place, and then try it out in your Senseo double cup holder or other single serve coffee maker.
A word of caution: Just like when using the Eco-Pad reuseable coffee filter, getting any amount of ground coffee caught in the double-pod holder where the coffee comes out in the bottom can lead to a plugged coffee holder and exploding single serve coffee maker. Try any of these methods with EXTREME caution.
Books? First music and now books? How about some single serve coffee pods Starbucks? It seems that Starbucks will soon be featuring books along with their usual picks of music and coffee.
Okay - we need to calm down but we really wish Starbucks wouldn't become "Starbooks" and would instead give us the option of their great coffee at home in the form of a coffee pod or whatever they desire. All that being said (and it was a mouthful), we do like Starbucks pushing some decent literature for people to sit and read over coffee.
After announcing in April that it was seeking movies and books to promote along with the music it already sells in stores, Starbucks has selected “For One More Day,” Mr. Albom’s second novel, as the first selection that it will feature in its new book program, according to people with knowledge of the deal who asked for anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss it.The novel, to be published by Hyperion on Sept. 26, will appear in Starbucks stores from the first week in October through the second week of November.

It's back to school time once again and many of your returning college students or college students themselves will need coffee that's quick and easy to make in their college apartment or college dorm. We recommend the following options when buying that college dorm room coffee maker in the single serve coffee arena.
There's always a lot going on in the Single Serve Coffee Forums. Currently there's an interesting discussion regarding Flava Pods. Looks like they're not shipping orders and many forum members are pretty unhappy.
On a lighter note a forums member wants to be talked out of buying a Preva xSport for camping. We say go for it. It's a great little device and will really change the way you look at coffee and camping.
And on an even light note, we have amongst the forums a "Poker Podster" who brings his single serve coffee machine to poker games and now all of his friends miss it when he doesn't bring it. Good coffee and poker - what could be better?

The Nespresso Le Cube is now available to order. We recently reviewed the Nespresso Le Cube and really like the new features and design of this new model. The overall quality of the espresso produced from the Le Cube is excellent and we're glad to see the Nespresso Le Cube arrive here in the US with all the same features as it's European cousin.

We get questions all the time on how loud are the various single serve coffee makers we feature on the site. Well - we can now provide you with this cool little video that features the Senseo Single Serve Coffee Machine heating up. We've never found the machine to be loud when heating up but to be kinda pleasant and relaxing.
We've been working hard to get it together on the podcast front and can now officially say - we've got a podcast for the entire BlogPire! If you really want to learn the art of refilling K-Cups - we've got an amazing find in the SingleServeCoffee.com Forums. You'll need some Glad Press and Seal, along with some patience, but overall it looks pretty straightforward. We like the fact it can be done and also that it's very eco-friendly. Thanks to forum member "roxie" for coming up with such a cool interesting single serve coffee idea.
What do you think about refilling a used K-Cup? I've tried it and the following method works fine, and I didn't notice any negative impact on taste by refilling one time. The following method allows me to set up many K-Cups with different types of coffee in advance. Let me know what you think?
How about a stainless steel coffee table to go along with all the stainless steel in your kitchen? With rounded corners and an almost alien feel, we like the modern look of this coffee table designed by Ben Haas for Steelogic.
