Nespresso Jalayatra Special Club Coffee - Peppery Coffee from Across the Sea

Nespresso Blend Special

We'll be receiving some of the new Jalaytra Nespresso club coffee to review very soon. The coffee is imported from India, and has acquired its distinct flavor from the journey across the ocean according to Nespresso. These 'sea-spray swollen' beans revealed an intense flavor after their voyage, and this has resulted in an intense blend, drawing from the strength of the monsoon rain to release its richness and peppery, spiced notes.

Peppery spiced coffee could be very interesting, and we did love the Nespresso Variations earlier this year. The Jalaytra Nespresso coffee capsules will work in your Nespresso D90, Nespresso Le Cube, Nespresso Romeo, Nespresso Lattissima, Nespresso C100T, and other Nespresso single serve coffee and espresso makers.

Starbucks To Giveaway 50 Million iTunes Songs

Starbucks Itunes

From Oct. 2 to Nov. 7, more than 10,000 Starbucks shops will be handing out free "Song of the Day" iTunes download cards. Starbucks estimates it will hand out 1.5 million songs per day, over 50 million in all, to promote the iTunes Wi-Fi store to which Starbucks will grant free access over its T-Mobile Wi-Fi networks.

Before we switched to AT&T, we used to use the T-Mobile Hot Spot at Starbucks all the time. Since we often take the entire single serve coffee staff to Starbucks for a break from the office, we loved the ability to surf and drink some coffee. To get your free songs, it appears you'll have to have a computer running iTunes, and you don't get your pick—each card is for a specific song. Oh well, at least it gives us a reason to sample some Wi-Fi and get a free song along with a cup of coffee. Maybe they should hand out these cards and we should just come home for coffee...hmmm...

Review: Green Mountain Fair Trade Pumpkin Spice K Cups for Keurig

Review from Single Serve Coffee.com - Coffee Pod ReviewsImg 4941

Halloween and the holidays are upon us, and that means spicy flavor filled Fall autumnal coffees. This time of year, we long for apple cider, Fall leaves, and most of all Fall pies. We're always excited to get our first pumpkin pie, or any type of pumpkin cookie, donut (yes donut), and most of all the pumpkin spiced coffee that comes out each Fall from Green Mountain and other coffee roasters. Green Mountain Coffee produces seasonal K Cup blends, and Pumpkin Spice is always in our Keurig this time of year.

The Green Mountain Pumpkin Spice is also Fair Trade certified, meaning you'll be doing your part to keep coffee growers in business wherever Green Mountain sources the coffees for this blend. The Fair Trade Pumpkin Spice K Cups will work in your Keurig Elite B40 Brewer, Keurig B50, Keurig Special Edition Ultra Elite B60, and the Keurig B70 Brewer. How good is this Autumnal coffee we've come to drink each year?

Senseo Kicks It Up a Notch with Senseo Cafe Choco and Senseo Espresso

Img 4868

Food and beverage group Sara Lee has announced plans for the future growth of its hot beverage operations with an increased focus on premium brands and emerging markets like Russia. Along with geographic expansion, the company said it will also increase the number of products available through its international portfolio, particularly for its Senseo espresso machine range. It will also be bringing Senseo Espresso (we've reviewed the European version earlier this year) here to the US and we'll see new products as well over time.

This will include the launch of Senseo Café Choco, which will combine coffee, milk and chocolate together into a single product. With the debut of a new system called Flavorit during the year, the company claims that consumers will also be able to customize specific flavours in coffee through their machines. Senseo Café Choco and Flavorit are not guaranteed to come to US shores. Bummer.

Review: Nespresso Lattissima - One Touch Cappuccinos, Lattes, and Espresso

Review from Single Serve Coffee.com - Coffee Pod Reviews Nespressolattissma

The Nespresso Lattissima can make one touch cappuccinos, lattes, and espresso with the touch of a button. We first encountered the Nespresso Lattissima single serve coffee machine earlier this year at the Nespresso launch party for the machine. We were impressed then and are we impressed now? What can we say - the machine not only delivers on the promise of one touch cappuccinos, lattes, and espresso - it excels at all of those drinks and best of all - it's the easiest to use machine we've ever tested to create a latte or cappuccino hands down.

As we said earlier in the year, because the Nespresso Lattissima uses fresh milk the difference in the quality of the latte or cappuccino is staggering. The Nespresso Lattissima also features an "auto clean" function, and the milk reservoir detaches from the machine so you can keep it nice and cool in the fridge for the next cappuccino or latte you make. Another cool feature is the adjustable cup platform, which allows you to use a tall latte glass or a traditional coffee cup.

Mars Swirl Flavia Fusion Filter Packs

C252We've been moving into our fall/winter single serve coffee drinking habits, and one of the new flavors from Flavia - the Mars Swirl filter packs are making quite an impression here. A rich choco and creamy caramel swirl that is an ideal topping for your Cappuccinos and Mochaccinos, Mars Swirl is also quite good just as a stand alone cup of hot milky swirl goodness. You can also add some hot milk and get quite a delicious hot chocolate drink.

Whatever you decide, we think if you own a Flavia Fusion Drinks Station or the Flavia Fusion Deluxe Drinks Station then you're in business. Note: The Mars Swirl Flavia filter packs will not work with your SB100 drinks station.

Test bench: Single Serve Coffee and Espresso Makers

111Coffee-185 206146A

This must read article from the Times Online does a pretty amazing job of looking at the current models of single serve coffee machines you can purchase for your home. They take the different models and put them through their test kitchen making lattes, espresso, and cups of single serve coffee. Though the article is UK based, many of these same machines (like the Nespresso Le Cube above) are available in the US. So, if you want to get the low down on many of the preparation methods and machines available in the single serve coffee world, this article is for you.

Why fill the till at Starbucks on your way to work when you can make a cup of authentic morning java for as little as 10p, as well as having a gleaming coffee machine in your kitchen and enjoying the pose value of acting the barista for guests?

Despite many options, all espresso machines employ the same basic method. Water from a tank is heated rapidly to just below boiling point and then driven at high pressure through a filter that holds tightly packed fine-ground coffee. Most home systems can make one or two cups at a time, and the majority also have a steam nozzle or “frother” that heats and froths milk for a cappuccino or a latte.

564027E

Well - the price is a bit on the higher side at $199, but if it can compete with the Bunn My Cafe on Brew quality - then we may have another coffee pod wonder on our hands.

  • Low pressure pump and boiler system with patented tamping and sealing method for better tasting coffee

Starbucks Coffee Coming to Tassimo - Bosch to Partner on New Tassimo Brewer

Newtassimobrewer

Kraft Foods Inc. makers of Tassimo said on Tuesday it has struck deals with Starbucks Corp and Bosch Household Appliances to fuel growth of its Tassimo hot beverage system, which the company said was on track to become a $200 million brand by year's end.

What does this mean? Really it means you'll have 4 Starbucks coffee blends and the Tassimo Hot Beverage System will be made by Bosch instead of Braun the current appliance maker. When do you get these new changes? The new coffees will come in December, and the new Bosch made Tassimo brewers will come in July of 2008.

Tassimo owners will have access to thse four Starbucks coffees in December:

That brings the total number of Tassimo beverage offerings to more than 60 worldwide. We couldn't be more happy with these announcements. It means Starbucks is finally in the single serve coffee game, and it also means a new single serve coffee brewer from Bosch.
