Oh diamond plate mug won't you enjoy my perfect cup of single serve coffee? The $13.95 Diamond Plate Mug is a great addition to anyone's coffee mug arsenal, and will make the perfect gift for those hard to impress. This unique mug is actually made out of ceramic (despite looking far more valuable than that) and is guaranteed to be rust free for life.
It looks likePODhead.comwill be offering their own coffee pod brewer this spring. They are taking reservations for the brewer at $169 with 100 sensation coffee pods.
Little is know about this elusive coffee pod brewer, but if it's going to be backed by Podhead.com we're thinking the quality of coffee it produces will be excellent. We'll let you know more as we find out the details.
Each packet contains 10 grams of 100% Specialty Grade Arabica coffee, ground to the perfect size to work with a reusable K-Cup filter. There are 6 different blends of Ekojava currently available.
We just checked out Over Coffee, a new social media site like Facebook about coffee, people, travels, and about the shared experiences that take place over a cup of coffee. It's interesting in a Facebook kind of way, but we still prefer the Single Serve Coffee Forums for our single serve coffee chit chat.
Here's Over Coffee's motto:
"A lot can happen over a cup of coffee. You find out a friend is getting married. You end up face to face with an intimidating first date and hide behind your Cup of Joe. You disclose deep-rooted secrets. You find yourself in a new world with new people and new coffee cultures. Even when you are alone with a cup of coffee, something is happening."
We continue our reviews of new Canadian T-Discs today with another entry submitted by our Canadian Correspondent, SH. Today he reviews the recent Carte Noire Long Espresso T-Discs. A "long espresso" is pretty much similar to a "lungo" whereby you use the same amount of coffee at the same extraction level but increase the final amount of drink volume in the cup. As a result, you get a super-sized espresso with all the same amount of kick. Sign us up!
We're got a confession - we're in love with Dunkin' Donuts Dark and Original blend K-Cups and it's not even Valentine's day. Sure we've had them around for quite some time, but recently they've taken over our morning cups of single serve coffee and we haven't looked back.
With the GET AMP'D MUG you can super size both your morning single serve coffee, and the amount of volume the coffee will produce. You can also turn your caffeine intake up to eleven, and then strut your stuff all over the breakfast nook. We'd like a cup of this size and quality as our fondness for Fender amps is legendary, and if you have someone in your life that plays guitar or just wants to rock we think turning their lives up to eleven with this coffee mug will be met with an awesome morning smile.
Growing up in Northern Maine, we can safely tell you one of the best things was being able to cross the border into Canada and eat their wonderful candy. Sure stateside we had Willy Wonka, and other interesting chocolate bars to eat, but nothing compared to any chocolate bar with coffee like Coffee Crisp. Coffee Crisp bars and bites have wafers of chocolate held together with coffee flavor, and it just melts in your mouth along with the chocolate.
Coffee Crisp is impossible to get outside of Canada. We did for a short time from 2006-2009 have Coffee Crisp bars in our lives there stateside - but we squandered the time and only ever had a few bars. Now since our correspondent SH has sent us both Coffee Crisp bars and the small bites - this President's Day weekend has been candy filled.
Why yes - in fact the Vue Brewer will fit a travel mug. The drip tray can be pulled forward to make room for a large sized travel mug in the Keurig Vue Brewer. You can also brew full strength in a travel mug with Vue packs specially formulated to brew a bigger cup with the strength you would want in a large travel mug.
The Keurig Vue Brewer works only with the patented Vue packs or V-Cups. Each portion pack contains exactly the right amount of coffee, tea or other beverage. Also the Vue packs can only be used with Vue Brewers. They are not interchangeable with K-Cup Brewers and K-Cup packs.
We expected this to be the case when Keurig announced the new VUE Brewer, and to solve all the problems of different beverages, recycled K-Cups, and brew strength a new brew system was invented. One of the big innovations we're most excited to try is the latte or cappuccino drinks that come with a coffee and a milk portion vue pack.
Keurig has officially announced the new Keurig VUE Brewing System and V-Cups. The Vue system supports stronger bolder coffee, and the V-Cups are able to be recycled unlike the older K-Cup format. As of today there are over 33 V-Cups available for the VUE brewer which retails at $249. Also, the Keurig Vue can brew "frothy" drinks including Barista Prima Coffeehouse Café Mochas, Barista Prima Coffeehouse Sweetened Cappuccinos, and Barista Prima Coffeehouse Vanilla Lattes. It appears there will be both a milk V-Cup and a coffee V-Cup to make such milk based coffee drinks possible.
Over at SingleServeEspresso.com there's news Coffee Bean, Tea and Leaf has rolled out their line of single serve coffee and espresso machines at Target, Macy's and Dillard's with the moniker - "One Touch. One Perfect Cup". We recently featured a review of the CBTL Americano and really liked it, so it's good news another single serve coffee maker of it's caliber is more widely available.
Is this the Keurig Vue Brewer? We're not sure but you may like this web comic from Scott Kurtz called The Trenches.
We've been getting lots of reader send ins of information regarding the rumored Keurig Vue and new V-Cup format for the new VUE brewer. Over at New Keurig "Vue" brewer [B80V] in the Single Serve Coffee there's much discussion regarding the VUE brewer, and whether or not it's going to use an RFID reader for anything, and what this new keurig VUE brewer and V-Cup format could be.
Here's what we know so far, and all of this is just wild speculation until tomorrow February 15th when Keurig may or may not reveal the VUE brewer and V-Cup format at their event in New York.
This coffee mug is designed to help you tackle the most difficult day of the week - Monday. Just pour in hot water and the sulky face on the front is quickly replaced by a bright-eyed smiley one. To get the entire cure, you may have to keep this mug filled all day long to ensure a happy Monday. You'll also have to hand wash this mug after Monday's day long use, as this mug is not dishwasher safe.
Tassimo has recalled both it's brewers and the beverage T-Discs across US and Canada due to some T-Discs exploding and causing injury to consumers. Tassimo has setup a consumer recall page and you can see if your brewer and T-Discs have been recalled. We also have the details on the units recalled and a list for you to use to check your brewer and T-Discs after the jump.

The Trifecta MB for home use utilizes the same patented Air Infusion technology as the commercial model trifecta to unlock each flavor note for a smooth, deep-bodied coffee or tea experience. The resulting beverage called Full Cup - is a unique, amplified microbrew beverage that the coffee or tea lover can customize to enhance natural flavors from individual coffee and tea origins.
Here's a coffee table we never would have imagined could exist 10 years ago. The body of the table encapsulates electronics and robotics, that sculpt geometric patterns and images into a field of microscopic silicone beads beneath a glass top. The effect is mesmerizing and magical; it is truly Zen-like to watch ever-changing patterns and images appear in the sand.
Total price for a coffee table table sponsorship is at $5000, and you can get other smaller versions as well. We'll have to wait and see how well this Kickstarter project turns out before plopping down 5k.
Constructed from organically grown FSC certified renewable bamboo, which is available in several different styles
The glass top is extremely strong tempered glass, 5/16" thick, as is similar to the high-strength glass used in store windows
Comes with an SD card containing programs for sculpting patterns into the sand
A dimmer switch controls the brightness of the built-in lighting
An optional 3G modem can be built into your table to receive new programs for sculpting via the cellphone network, along with a service plan subscription that will push new designs to the table as they are created
Control the table from your smartphone. With the 3G modem option installed, you can download the iPhone/Android app which we are currently developing and play a compendium of classic games, or send commands via text message to your tables dedicated phone number
Connect a USB cable to your table, if desired, to send commands directly to the table from your computer, rather than programs being automatically loaded in sequence from the SD card
The Business Standard has a very exhaustive article Single-cup coffee sales seen growing and we've taken a bunch of the best bits out of it on the topic of single serve coffee growth.
Sara Lee will discontinue Senseo in North America as of March 31, except on select websites. It is working to make the machine more appealing, especially for young people, to tap growth overseas.
Wal-Mart Stores Inc will add the Esio Beverage System to its lineup of coffee machines.
Green Mountain, which controls more than three-quarters of the US market, ranks fourth globally with less than eight per cent.
Green Mountain is bound to maintain its grip on the United States, since its machines exclusively carry many of the nation’s biggest coffee brands, including Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts and Folgers.
The vast majority of US households still use traditional ground or instant coffee, and about 36 per cent of people who do not use single-cup brewers said these machines were too expensive.
Worldwide sales of coffee, including fresh and instant, reached $70.86 billion last year, according to Euromonitor, a rise of 17.5 per cent. Sales of single-serve packets accounted for $5.75 billion of that, or 8 per cent, but saw a jump of 31.3 per cent.
So single serve coffee as a category is only at 8% of the total coffee market and growing? Wow - we've come a long way and have a long way to go. It's also interesting to note the Esio Beverage System going to be featured at Walmart. Walmart and other retailers seem to feel that even though K-Cups have taken 75% of the US single serve coffee market there is room for more players.
We've been patiently following the entire RFID K-Cup/V-Cup brewer story at Single Serve Coffee Forums, and comments on earlier posts here at Single Serve Coffee. According to an FCC filing Keurig plans to release an RFID-enabled coffee brewer with the FCC ID YMSKAEFUHRVI1G200. This reveals vey little about the brewer itself, and we're unsure if this brewer(s) would be for consumer or business use.
We received news from our Canadian Correspondent, SH, that Canadian grocery chains have started to imitate a practice which recently popped-up this side of the border: knock-off imitation K-Cups. We’ve seen our fair share of good knock-offs (Rogers Family Company) to the downright awful (Grove Square), so let’s see what SH thought of the first Canadian Knock-off K-Cup to hit store shelves up North.
From SH: I was recently at my local Sobeys (major Canadian grocery chain store) last month and noticed they had come out with their own brand of knock-off K-Cups via their in-house "Our Compliments" brand. There were a total of 3 flavors: Light Roast, Medium Roast & Dark Roast (yes, those are the flavor "names"). Each are sold in 12-packs for $6.99 CAD and are a few dollars cheaper than the usual price of $8.49 for Folgers K-Cups or $8.99 for Van Houtte K-Cups. I snapped a quick pic from my cell phone & decided to try the dark roast.
