Looking for some memorable quotes for coffee talk? There's an app for that. The Coffee Quotes App includes quotes by famous politicians, celebrities, random people and anonymous coffee lovers. The developer even has one of their own quotes , "Behind every successful iPhone developer is a substantial amount of coffee."

We downloaded this app for iPhone and have to say - it's neat. You simply push to see the next quote, and the quotes are solid. The developer promises to add more coffee quotes in the future, and the app is only $.99.

Review: EZ-Cup for Keurig Single-Cup Machines - Make Your Own K-Cups and Use Your Own Coffee

The EZ-Cup and EZ-Cup Filters allow you to make refillable K-Cups with a filter sleeve that fits inside the EZ-Cup, and then fits into the brewing slot in your Keurig Brewer. Unlike the Perfect Pod Holster which allows you to use coffee pods in your Keurig brewer, the EZ-Cup allows you to use any ground coffee in your Keurig Brewer.

Update: Many readers have written in asking if you could use your Perfect Pod Holster with the filters. We have tried this and the spring inside the two different products is well - different. The Perfect Pod Holster has a very strong longer spring and the EZ-Cups is shorter to make room for the filter sleeve. We recommend buying the EZ-Cup and not trying to make the Perfect Pod Holster work. We did not get good results if we used the Perfect Pod Holster - it's for coffee pods not for use with the new EZ-Cup filter sleeve.

It's different from the My K-Cup reuseable K-Cup because you don't have to wash out a filter basket, after you're done filling the EZ-Cup and brewing, you simple open the top and pop out the spent filter basket made of paper. This makes disposing of the coffee grounds really easy, and the entire popped out coffee filter and coffee are able to be composted.

We've had the EZ-Cup now for a few weeks thanks to the folks at As Seen on TV Products sending us one to review, and we have tried a variety of coffee grounds with various success - all of the coffee produced being really quite good. We find the darker finer ground roasts to be our favorites.

Tom, Dick & Harry - Designer Tea, Sugar and Coffee Storage Jars

Anyone remember Shmoo? We do, and think these Tom, Dick & Harry jars would make us smile each morning as we make our cup of single serve coffee. We don't think we'll be filling the coffee jar with ground coffee, but we could see some coffee pods working nicely in it. The glints in their eyes indicate what's inside (T: tea, S: sugar & C: coffee) and their air-tight heads have room to fit the handle of a spoon.

Coffee Grounds Transform into Ashtray

Disposing cigarette ashes in a tray filled with coffee grinds is a common in Japanese culture because the coffee absorbs the smell of cigarette ash. Japanese designer Ryohei Yoshiyuki has designed a simple ashtray made out of used coffee grounds for this daily habit. We like the idea, but aren't big fans of smoking. But if you have to smoke, shouldn't you use a coffee ashtray?

NexPod Review at Single Serve Espresso - Make Your Own Nespresso Capsules

Our sister site SingleServeEspresso.com has a review of the NexPod refillable capsules for Nespresso. NexPod is a new pod system for the Nespresso line of makers that allows you to use your own capsules with your favorite espresso coffee. You might even be able to save a little money over the ~$0.55 cost per Nespresso capsule; SSE paid $23 on eBay for their NexPod shipped from Switzerland. That puts it at about $0.28 each empty capsule. Adding up the cost of about 4-5g of coffee per capsule, that adds about a dime to the cost of each unit. These can save about $15 - $20 per box of 80 units; not bad.

Their verdict? The NexPod is a little hard to use and maybe not worth the time and effort, but it does allow you to use your own coffee. Click on through for the full review.

NexPod - Refillable Coffee Capsule for Nespresso

Looking for a way to use any espresso grade coffee in your Nespresso single serve espresso and coffee maker? Try NexPod. NexPod is compatible with any Nespresso system. The single use NexPod for Nespresso allows you to use your Nespresso machine with the coffee (or tea) of your choice. The capsules are easily closed with the joined cap and inserted in the Nespresso machine as normal Nespresso capsules.

It looks like there are two parts to the capsule - the plastic and a paper insert. Here's how it works:

1. Insert the circular paper filter in the cap of the pod
2. Use the pod itself to gather the coffee and close the capsules directly in the coffee bag to avoid spilling
3. Press the ground coffee in the pod
4. Please clean the edge of the capsule before closing it
5. Insert the NexPod in the Machine as a normal Nespresso pod
6. For a stronger espresso use finer ground coffee.

We're going to see if we can get one of these to review soon. Right now you can purchase direct and on ebay, but we've yet to see any US auctions on ebay pop up.

My-Kap Lid - Use Any Coffee in Your K-Cup Brewer

We were recently introduced to the My-Kap reusable lid for use with used K-Cups in your Keurig machine. The My-Kap allows you to re-use the Cup several times. Each time, you can fill it with your choice of coffee. Re-using your K-Cups saves up to 20 cents per cup, reduces waste, and allows you to enjoy an infinite selection of coffee varieties.

The My-Kap is easy to use, dishwasher-safe, and durable. It does not require altering the Keurig machine at all. Peel the foil off the top of your used K-Cup, rinse it, put in a spoonful of your desired coffee, and press the My-Kap in place; then insert into the machine as you would a regular K-Cup.

Each My-Kap comes with detailed, illustrated instructions on using, storing and cleaning it. Also included is a tool that helps get the My-Kap back off of the K-Cup after using it.

After lots of different coffees, we find a somewhat fine grind along with a bolder coffee works best. We also preferred the 6 oz size using our Keurig Platinum brewer. The My-Kap is compatible with any Keurig brewer, however the My-Kap was not designed or manufactured by Keurig. It is not endorsed by Keurig for use in either the K-Cup or Keurig Brewer. D+Caf Detects If You're Drinking Caffeinated Coffee Instead of Decaf

Sometimes you want to know if you're being duped with a cup of decaf over real coffee, and sometimes you just want to also look in the face of the person for 10+ years who tells you it's leaded coffee, and say, "Busted". D+caf test strips are strips of paper coated with antibodies that tell if you a beverage is properly decaffeinated, turning up blue lines if it's got more than 20mg of caffeine per 6oz serving. The strips are 98 percent accurate for detecting caffeine, plus you have to use them before you add anything else to your coffee tea, like milk or sugar.

Review: Keurig Milk Frother for Single Serve and One Cup Coffee Makers

Up until recently the only other automatic milk frothers were from Nespresso - the Aeroccino and Aeroccino Plus. We love our Aeroccino, but we're also ready to have some more alternatives to milk frothing companions for our single serve coffee. The Keurig Milk Frother is another stand alone frother that you can use with any single serve coffee system, but will make an amazing companion for your Keurig Mini B30, Keurig Elite B40 Brewer, Keurig B50, Keurig Special Edition Ultra Elite B60, Keurig B70 Brewer, Breville BKC600XL Gourmet Single Cup Brewer, and any other Keurig brewer.

We've been using the Keurig Milk Frother over the past two weeks, and have to say it's easy to use, clean up, and makes great frothed milk. You'll need only one essential ingredient - great skim milk for frothing. If you want to use other milk fat levels - you won't get great froth, but you will get whipped hot milk. There are two levels as well 150 ml for froth using skim milk, and 250 ml for hot milk. Both of these measure levels are marked inside the frother.

Keurig Countertop Tower K-Cup Holder - Holds 30 K-Cups

Looking for a great way to showcase all of those K-Cup flavors you have for your Keurig singles serve coffee maker? We have been using the Keurig Tower K-Cup Holder for over a month, and we love it. Instead of reaching into the cupboard for a K-Cup we can load up the tower with as many varieties of K-Cup coffees, teas, and even white or hot chocolate. We've found this to be a much better design than the earlier K-Cup Carousel because the footprint of the tower is much less. The lazy susan design is also really fluid, and the tower can hold up to 30 K-Cups.
