Baronet Coffee just sent us a set of their new Fair Trade Decaf, Decaf Mocha Java, and 50/50 - Columbian coffee pods. We fired up the Bunn My Cafe and have to say - these are all good decaf and half caf coffees. We especially like the 50/50. After a long day of testing coffee pods, a little less caffeine can be good for the stomach.
We are also excited to see a Fair Trade coffee in Decaf. The beans used in the Fair Trade coffee pods are organically grown, and the brew produced is has a very rich taste and smell.
Baronet is also offering FREE Shipping on orders of 6 sleeves or more. Sleeves contain 18 coffee pods and are priced at $7.25 a sleeve making it just $.40 a coffee pod. All Baronet Coffee pods will fit your Bunn My Cafe, Home Cafe, or Senseo system and weigh in the 10 gram range.

Senseo is launching their new Forbidden fruits range. There will be 3 blends of coffee infused with fruit including in the picture - RAVING Reds! From what we can tell the flavors look to be Raspberry (Raving Red), Orange (Buzzer?) and one other fruit flavor. I hope we can see these stateside soon.
I was able to find a German site with some more info: Douwe Egberts SENSEO offers to you with "Forbidden Fruits " a completely new and daring coffee experience. Experience, how surprising taste can be, and can you from the unexpected combination of freshly gebruehtem coffee and intensive, fruchtigen and spicy flavours be enticed.
Thanks to CafePods for sending this in! If you know of more cool happenings in other part of the Single Serve Coffee world beside the US - !

We're having a cup of dark roast single serve coffee from Community Coffee this morning and really enjoying it. If you don't know Community Coffee, you should. Community Coffee is the largest family-owned retail coffee brand in the U.S. The company’s roots grew from a small country store in Baton Rouge where more than 80 years ago, founder Henry Norman 'Cap' Saurage brewed his popular coffee.
The coffee became so popular that he named it Community in honor of his loyal friends and customers. The owners eventually turned their attention away from the grocery store and devoted all of their time and energy to making coffee. And now Community Coffee is making Single Cup or Single Serve Coffee pods and will they be as good as their other coffee?

Wendy from Typical Dutch Stuff sent us in a sampler pack of AH coffee pods to review. The coffee pods come individually wrapped and weigh in at 7 grams each. At 7 grams, these are sized identically to the Senseo coffee pods and if you want to brew a double cup at 8 oz, you'll need to use 2 coffee pods. When you order a sampler pack, you will get 2 of each of the following flavors; Dutch Roast, French Roast, Italian Roast, Java Blend, Ethiopia Blend, and Brazil Blend.
Before we get into tasting the coffee, it was quite an ordeal to get a cup brewed. I'm having this cup of AH French Roast brewed from a Senseo single serve coffee machine deep in the northern California mountains, just a little northwest of a little town called Hyampom.

Peter J. Guildner of Cool Beans Pods asked us to visit to see how coffee pods were made at Cool Beans Pods. We were very excited to visit Peter, as Cool Beans Pods has been in the coffee pod market just about the same time the single serve coffee market exploded last year and we've really enjoyed all the coffee pods from Cool Beans.
We arrived in Rocky Hill, CT early afternoon just as the heat was in full force and drinking coffee seemed like a rather hot thing to do. Cool Beans is located in a large office park with facilities in a rather large and very cool beans warehouse. Peter greeted us and gave us a little tour around the Cool Beans coffee pod making area.
