Single Serve Coffee Magic at a Glacier

Singleservecoffeemagictrickatglacier

We haven't seen a lot of single serve coffee tricks, but when we do we have to share.  Single Serve Coffee reader Matt has written us about this video which we have for you after the jump.

Big fan of the Single Serve Coffee blog, so keep up the good work! :) I thought you might like this
quick little video of Justin Flom (that internet magician) performing
a trick with coffee. Pretty damn good. Anyway, I figured the rest
of your readers might like it, too…. Matt

Dunkin' Donuts Flavor Radio Subliminal Coffee Advertising

DunkinSmell-thumb-550xauto-96716.jpg

Here's one for the interesting Single Serve Coffee books - Dunkin' Donuts is experimenting with subliminal coffee advertising in the form of coffee aroma being blasted around from an coffee scented air freshner on bus. At key points during the ride, the air freshener will spill out the fragrance, coupled with a jingle for Dunkin' Donuts.

The company claims visitors to its stores near bus stops rose 16% during the campaign, and overall coffee sales jumped by 29%. Now if you're worried this is happening here in the US - it's only been used in Seoul, Korea, and it was dubbed "Flavor Radio".

Thought this would be something different - a coffee inspired motorcycle. We love the color, and we also love the cafe racer style. Happy Friday everyone - Summer is going fast so go out and enjoy it with a little coffee.

Coffee Cup Lights by Connox

254897007_24d50fe0c7dc.jpg

These Coffee Lights by Connox are going to light up your coffee morning by shining the power of coffee right down into your cup at light speed. They're also not cheap at 160 euros, but then again coffee lights have never really been cheap. :-) We would love these over an island in a kitchen we'd love to have, and we think it's a unique idea for that caffeinated kitchen we all dream of.

Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee with Jerry Seinfeld

commediansgettingcoffee.jpg

Jerry Seinfeld is making us laugh again and this time it's all about two comedians getting some coffee. The premise of this web-only series is getting famous comedians like Larry David, Ricky Gervais, and others to go out and chat over coffee with Jerry Seinfeld. Jerry picks up each comedian in a different classic car and hilarity ensues. We watched the first one with Larry David and our review - awesome. Check it out if you need a little laugh today or many.

One Big Black Heart with a Single Serve Coffee Maker

moka_heart_one.jpg

Over the weekend we had the pleasure of visiting one of our favorite sculpture parks. The deCordova in Lincoln, MA features a great many things, but we had no idea it also had sculptures featuring coffee. The Two Big Black Hearts from artist Jim Dine (one heart shown above) have lots of things stuck in them that we love, but one of the hearts has one of the things we really love - a single serve coffee maker stuck on it.

Green Mountain Faces Single Serve Coffee Challenges for the Year Ahead

kcupbrewer2012.jpg

Share prices this year of Green Mountain Coffee have been on the decline from the highs of last year due to the expiring patents on K-Cups and what this means for the company according to The Boston Globe is more challenges lie ahead. We've been watching the highs and lows here at Single Serve Coffee, but is this really something new? Green Mountain Coffee has been riding out various after market products and knock-off K-Cups this year to still do well and continue to dominate the market.

Also there's the Keurig VUE brewing system introduced this year, and well ahead of the competition directly from Starbucks which should come in the late Fall with an espresso system called Verismo. We love the VUE and have been enjoying the coffees, teas, and other hot beverages it produces, and think consumers will find in the end the new VUE offers something like K-Cups - single serve coffee convenience with a large variety of choices over time.
