Update: Check out the 2007 Single Serve Coffee Holiday Gift Guide

Over $500

Pininfarina ProWe also like the combination of the Lavazza Blue from Cafe Razzi. We just recently reviewed the Lavazza Blue and think the coffee produced is amazing and superior to most of the higher end single serve machines we've tried.

We also think the Nespresso Romeo is a very interesting and expensive single serve coffee maker we'd love to have in our kitchen (hint - hint). We reviewed the Nespresso Romeo last year and we often think back to how cool it is and how amazing the coffee was.

$350

Nespresso Le Cube C180 - Arctic White - 1-2

We recommend the Nespresso Le Cube -. The design is sharp and interesting and you'll have your hands full of espresso and single serve cups of coffee.

200-$350

B000Evt0Zg.01. Aa280 Sclzzzzzzz V65578849 We like the Bunn My Cafe and the Keurig B70. You'll be entering the world of K Cups with the Keurig B70 and the world of coffee pods with your Bunn My Cafe single serve coffee maker. They are top shelf as far as we're concerned and some of the best single serve coffee makers you can buy.

$150
B000Kbhaaw.01-A23Nlorbgxoleo. Aa280 Sclzzzzzzz V36203231 Here's the world of the Senseo Supreme single serve coffee maker and also the Nespresso Essenza C100 . We love both of these. The Senseo Supreme will allow you to use the largest variety of coffee pods for your single serve dollar, and the Nespresso Essenza will get you in the Nespresso club on the cheap, but the espresso and single serve coffee will be very god.

On the Keurig front, the Keurig B60 has recently been reduced and is now only $149.99. It will get you into the Keurig club for a great price with almost all the features of the more expensive Keurig B70.

Under $100

B40-SmWe love the classic Senseo for the price. It's only going to set you back ~$50-60 dollars and it can use a large variety of coffee pods. We also think the Keurig B40 will get you into the world of Keurig and K Cups for the right price. At $99 bucks the Keurig B40 can't be beat for ease of use and variety in single serve coffee.

We also recommend the Krups My Cafe. This little number can make two cups of single serve coffee using coffee pods at a time and bang for the buck - it makes an excellent cup of single serve coffee.

Under $50

Aero Press 03-TmWe recommend the Aeropress single serve coffee maker. It's not one you plug in, but you can hand craft and make perfect cups of single serve coffee every time. The best part - you can use whatever coffee you like and the coffee produced is amazing.

Coffee Pods

KonacoffeepodsAloha Island Coffee continues to impress with great coffee pods. Also we recommend Cool Beans Pods - always a solid coffee pod and with a large variety. Want to get something very fresh and super creative? Creative Pods makes hand crafted coffee pods for your Senseo, Bunn My Cafe, Melitta One:One, Grindmaster, and Krups Home Cafe single serve coffee pod brewers. You can also always search in Amazon.com for the latest coffee pods for your single serve coffee maker.

K Cup Coffee

Img 1244-1If you're looking for the latest K Cup coffee you can always visit Green Mountain Coffee.

And if you're looking for more K Cups than just those from Green Mountain Coffee, you can check out CoffeeWiz.com. They have the largest assortment of K Cups around, and offer K Cups from Timothy's and others.

There's also always Amazon.com. They offer all the K Cup varieties and have a huge assortment of 2 packs and other special offers.

Coffee Cups

We love the Bodum Pavina Double-Wall Thermo Glasses and we think you will too. This is a perfect gift for the coffee lover looking to be different and have their coffee look interesting while they drink it.

Coffee Accessories

How can you go wrong with the BonJour Primo Latte Frother with Stand? For less than $30 bucks, you can have your milk frothed and enjoy a little more texture in your single serve coffee.

We'll be adding to the gift guide over the holidays, so stay tuned for more products and updates for the holiday shopping season.

Father's Day ESE Espresso Gift Guide

120Fathers Day Gift SscNothing says Father's Day quite like the gift of espresso. Yeah - that sounds right. Imagine your dad winding up a little milk frothing, pulling a shot of espresso, and then sitting down for a nice latte while reading the paper this Sunday. We've got three picks for you below ranging from $199-500.

The BIG day is fast approaching (this Sunday actually) but you still have time to give the gift of espresso. We recommend going the ESE espresso pod route. Having reviewed several of these machines (you can read our review of the Francis! Francis!, we like the quality and variety of espresso produced from these machines using the ESE espresso pods.

ESE Stands for Easy Serving Espresso, and the standard sets the requirements for the pods - 7 grams of coffee, a proper grind, and a shape and diameter that allows it to be used only in ESE approved machines. The pods sandwich the coffee between two layers of sealed filter paper. The diameter of the ESE pod is 44-45 millimeters, which is much smaller than the 55-60 mm pods that are available for the "Single Serve" coffee makers that have become popular in the last few years.

We wonder where these single serve coffee machines have become popular? :-)

The Francis! Francis X6 features a 1100-watt espresso/cappuccino machine housed in ABS plastic with chrome accents and works with ESE pods. It also features an 18-bar pressure pump; all-brass boiler refills automatically and the new Trio Technology which allows for making 3 espresso preparations--short, normal, and long. It has a 5-cup removable water tank, steam jet with built-in milk foamer, and a handy cup warmer. The Francis Francis X6 is priced at $429.99 for a limited time and normally runs $500 and higher.

BrevillecaferomaThe Breville ESP8XL Café Roma Stainless Espresso Maker is a good-looking espresso machine that is built with quality in mind at a good value. The pump driven maker is rated to give you 15 bar of pressure to deliver a beautiful crema every time. A full 15 bars of pressure is maintained throughout the process to maximize crema, giving the coffee a rich, barista-style aroma and taste. Three stainless steel filters (single shot, 7g; double shot, 14g; and E.S.E. pod) incorporate Breville's unique dual-wall crema technology. Beneath the first wall's 333 pores is a second steel wall with a single exit hole. This produces a backpressure, ensuring a rich, smooth flavor and texture from every extraction. We like the price at $199 and think your dad will like the espresso too.

And finally we give you the Krups XP4050 1200-Watt 15-Bar-Pump Programmable Espresso Machine. This little number has a 1200-watt programmable espresso machine with Thermobloc 15-bar pump system and easy push-button programming for controlling size and strength of espresso. The filter holder offers 3 interchangeable inserts that hold single, double, or E.S.E. pods. The KRUPS XP4050 also froths milk to perfection and has a 32-ounce removable water tank, drip tray, and cup-warming tray. This is a total steal at half off - normally $400 - you can get it right now for $199 from Krups america.

Single Serve Coffee Holiday Shopping Guide for Senseo, Melitta, and others!

holidayshoppingguide.jpgWe are pretty sure it's hard to find everything you need for that perfect Single Serve Coffee holiday gift, so thanks to over 8 months of hard work, we have compiled what we think is a nearly complete list of things you can buy for any Single Serve Coffee lover or soon to be converted, drip coffee kind of person. Below you will find links to all the machines in this category along with links to pods, gadgets, accessories - you name it - it's down there.

If you don't find it below however, you may also want to read our reviews. Many of the items we have given coverage over the past year need to be ordered direct from those merchants including the Cafe Filter, Cappucinno Pods for Home Cafe, and others. You should read about the tradeoffs each machine has to offer and what the coffee pod/cup system will mean to your potential giftee.

Also, be careful of merchants over the holidays that don't have good feedback here on the site. If you are going to order pods from abroad - check out our coffee pods section and read up on the merchants who have done a good job with shipping and those who haven't.

And since this is coming out before the "thankful" holiday - we want to give a big thanks to our loyal readers, commenters, advertisers, and anyone who has helped us over the past 8 months to become the premiere source of Single Serve Coffee news. Without all of you - this site would simply be a static set of news, and not the interactive-exciting coffee laced place it has become. Thank you all again.
