Sure it makes 12 cups, but it also has easy one-handed dispensing making it a 12 cup wonder with one cup at time ease. The removable coffee chamber also has a 24-hour programmable timer for wake-up coffee, and a brew-pause function so you can get that perfect cup. Also, this coffee maker reminds us of the Brew Station we reviewed a few years back.
One thing about these single serve at a time with 12 cups on hand coffee makers - if you're throwing a breakfast party the amount of coffee these can hold makes a nice trade off. Also pricing on this model vs the Brew Station is good. The Brew station will set you back about $86, where as this Mr. Coffee version will only set you back $49.

The Maestria has a steam wand built in.
Nespresso is realeasing in April two Nespresso machines - the Maestria and Gran Maestria. The Nespresso Maestria will use the Nespresso coffee capsules for one-touch coffee, espresso, and cafe style drinks. The Maestria will use a steam wand, but the Gran Maestria model will use the Aeroccino for making hot whipped milk.

The Keurig Office Vue V1200 Brewing System is designed to meet the needs of the office coffee market. The brewer integrates RFID technology into the Keurig Vue Packs to make sure only office Vue packs are used in the V1200, and to communicate with the brewer what type of coffee or hot beverage is being prepared.
The Keurig Office Vue V1200 Brewing System with RFID Reader also uses Vue packs exclusively. The office Vue packs are also recyclable just like the consumer Vue packs. No word on what varieties of coffees, teas, and other beverages will be available with integrated RFID Vue packs when the brewer launches later this year.

Verismo a super-convenient, single-cup machine for making espresso-based beverages at home from Starbucks is coming in late 2012. Verismo will make cafe style espresso based drinks, and will feature milk pods that contain 100% shelf stable milk.
What's the reason for Starbucks creating their own single serve coffee maker when they are making K-Cups and VIA single serve coffees? Espresso Based beverages are missing in their new 3 pronged strategy for the single serve coffee market. They feel the new Verismo machine will compliment their two other offerings.
Here's is their 3 pronged strategy:
- Brewed single serve coffee with Green Mountain Coffee produced Starbucks K-Cups
- VIA for people who don't want to purchase a single serve coffee maker
- Verismo - Starbucks like quality - ability to make milk based beverages
Regarding the new VUE packs from Green Mountain - they are "looking into it." We don't expect Starbucks VUE packs now given Verismo, but they will continue to make K-Cups. We would like to state given we thought the chances of a Starbucks single serve coffee maker very likely - we find it refreshing they'll offer their coffees across many single serve coffee options - not just their new brewer.

The SunCana coffee pod brewer might look like the older Sun Cafe coffee pod brewer, but we can assure you it's not the same under the hood. The Keurig Vue V700 Single Cup Brewing System uses Keurig's Vue Packs, and is a single cup brewing system capable of making coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and even lattes and cappuccinos. The Keurig VUE brewer can only use Keurig Vue Packs, and not K-Cups, which are meant for older Keurig systems. Also unlike the older K-Cups, pulling off the top of the foil lid with the filter attached to a VUE Pack one can recycle the cup part of a VUE pack.

We just found this rather interesting single serve coffee brewer called the Brew1. This compact brewer retails for $99 and comes with a bunch of single serve coffees to try out. We're not sure where Brew 1 is made but it does feature brew temps of 195-200F, and also comes in 3 colors. The brewer also appears to have no water reservoir, and you simply add a cup of water each time to brew your coffee.
