Review: Presso Hand Pressed Espresso and Single Serve Coffee Maker

Review from Single Serve Coffee.com - Coffee Pod Reviews Pressobundlehighres Web

We've been pretty excited about the Presso single serve coffee and espresso maker from Presso.ca. Currently, the Presso is only available in Canada and other countries across the globe, but for a short time All-Clad made a version here in the US. We're not sure why they decided not to continue carrying the Presso, because with a few days of Presso use under our belts, we were able to make an amazing cup of single serve coffee and espresso.

Presso is very unique. Maybe not as unique as the Aeropress from Aerobie (come on - the inventor also invented the Aerobie frisbee), but the Presso sure looks the part. What's interesting is how impressed we are with pressing our own espresso or double-shot Americano using the Presso. It's really fun, and the results can be varied until you get to know your Presso.

Okay - for one last time - what is the Presso?

Presso Espresso and Single Serve Coffee Maker Video Preview

The Presso espresso and single serve coffee maker is for review. We recently found out the Presso was available in the US in an All-Clad version not too long ago which is very interesting. Also, our review version comes from the Canadian Presso distributor and retails for around $200 Canadian, but when the All-Clad version in the US was eliminated, you could get the Presso for much less.

Europe: Café Invento Single Serve Coffee Pod Maker

10Hk10Mg

Thanks to reader Matthew T., we've just found out about the new Café Invento Single Serve Coffee Pod Maker only available in Europe. You can make one or two delicious cups of coffee with a crema like layer, and the machine does this by using a Multiple podholders, for one or two coffee- or teapods. It has a large removable watertank, for approx. 10 cups of coffee.

The Café Invento Single Serve Coffee Pod Maker also features the Tasteselector, allowing you to select your personal coffee taste - be it light, medium, or darker cups of coffee. Best of all - it has an auto-shut off that powers the machine down after approx. 2 hours. Very green.

The really interesting thing about this new unique coffee pod maker - it features a unique material to make cleaning it up a breeze called Protact. Protact has a synthetic layer which is easy to clean and leaves no fingerprints. Developed by Corus, the synthetic layers have a smooth and silky finish. Inventum is the first in the world to use this material in a product or single serve coffee maker.

Presso Espresso and Single Serve Coffee Maker Arrives for Review

Img 4634

Presso is in the house! That's right, we've received our Presso Espresso and Single Serve Coffee Maker for review here at Single Serve Coffee. Much like the Aeropress, the Presso espresso maker takes a little elbow grease to make the perfect shot or double americano for your single serve coffee drinking needs. The Presso also comes with a milk frother that to the staff here - looks like it will take some serious pumping to froth up some milk. We'll be testing the Presso over the next week and should have a full review very soon.

What Single Serve Coffee Maker is Best for Making Cappuccinos?

Bestcapp Singleserve

We get questions all the time on what single serve coffee maker can make the best latte, cappuccino, or cup of coffee, and how much does it cost. This can be a tough question to answer, but we think we might be able to handle it.

The Question:

I have been reading your blog and I just have one question. What coffee maker would you recommend if you prefer single serve cappuccino and have a budget of around $100-150?

The Senseo seems to have the cappuccino, but when reading the reviews all the others seem to taste better. The Keurigs seem to be the best choice for coffee, but not so great for cappuccinos. I really want the froth and foam. The Tassimos and the Bruns are a bit pricey.

Any suggestions?

Europe: The WMF 1 Design Object Single Serve Coffee Maker

Wmf1

We're not sure how we missed this single serve coffee maker, but Gizmodo found it recently and it looks pretty amazing. The WMF 1 is a coffee pad/pod-based single-serve coffee machine, which integrates a cup into its minimalist cubic design that's not much bigger than a couple of books. The almost Apple like design can be livened up with your choice of four colors for the lining. After dumping in the water and pressing a button, it only takes a minute to brew your coffee.

Simplehuman Single Serve Coffee Pod Brewer A40 in Black Steel

312Sovxf4Xl. Ss500

Looking to dress up your kitchen with some "black tie" appliances? Look no further than this new release of the simplehuman A40 single serve coffee pod brewer in black steel! We do like our current simplehuman brewer in stainless steel, but we could be persuaded to get a black one. It's a bit hard to tell whether the brewer has any other changes to it besides the color, but we think not. It's a nice change to an a very nice coffee pod brewer and would fit in great with our black granite countertops. Read our review of the simplehuman pod brewer to find out more about the simplehuman A40 coffee pod brewer.

Presso Espresso Maker - Science Meets Espresso

Bundle-Logo

We just came upon the Presso Espresso maker when doing a bit of research on an upcoming review for the Senseo Presso kit we just acquired from an ebay seller. The presso looks more like a juice machine than an espresso maker, but from the video and materials we've found it looks like it makes a pretty solid espresso. From what we can see you fill the top chamber, put in some espresso ground coffee, and then press down. Bam - a shot of perfect espresso. The only way to buy right now seems to be from Australia at just over $600 AU, and that includes a grinder and other items.

Mr. Coffee Simple Brew Coffeemaker SL13 - Use Ground Coffee or Coffee Pods

Sl13

We were visiting out local target this past week and happened upon the new Mr Coffee SL13 Simple Brew Coffeemaker. It claims on side of the package to be able to use ground coffee or coffee pods. Wow. We took a look at the coffee pod filter and maybe it will work.

Image 00012
The Mr Coffee SL13 Simple Brew Coffeemaker claims
it can use coffee pods or ground coffee with the same filter.

It's got a very small footprint, and since you can use tea pods and coffee pods, this is a good choice for anyone looking to get a pod brewer at under $40 and get the most variety of hot beverage choices for you single serve dollar.

In the past Mr. Coffee put out their coffee pod machines under the Home Cafe brand, and we always though over the Black and Decker models - the Mr. Coffee Home Cafe coffee pod brewers were much better. We took a variety of pictures and have the full specs. What's interesting is this little brewer can brew up to a 14 oz cup of single serve coffee using coffee pods? How does it taste? We'll have to do a full review to tell.
